Computer help needed. Put an end to popups!

The situation. I just finished rebuilding my computer and while installing winXP, there were two options for file system. My computer's main use is games so should I use ntfs or fat32?

I was told ntfs (?) is only needed if you plan to handle files larger than 4 GB.

This exhausts my personal knowledge on the subject.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

ALWAYS use NTFS with Windows XP. There's really no reason not to, unless you want to install Win98 on the same drive (but you should really repartition it, reformat the new partition to FAT32 and then install it, were you to do that).

Edit: Oh, this may be important, Linux distros don't necessarily play nice with NFTS partitions.

I've been running XP on fat32 for 3 years, never had a problem.

So games shouldn't have any issues with NTFS? The drives I'll be formatting are 120 Gbyte (forgot to mention this)

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I've had XP for two years on drives using NTFS, and not once have I had a problem related to the type of file system. Games will work fine, the size is just fine.

One other thing, windows explorer sucks so does anyone have a suggestion for a 'real' file manager?

Or if your winXP CD does not auto boot.
