Last night finbar and Hydey and I played a game where I am winning at a canter 
Btw, as I told f and h, I'm going to get really cheesed off if people start not wanting to play games where they are losing. I have played some real stinkers in which I'm sure others were having a fine old time.

No, I was grateful for that 
The best example I can think of is a game with makeo and hydey where I lost my capital to barbs early and spent the rest of the game in a hopelessly behind position. We played that right through till makeo landed his friggin spaceship (first time I've seen it).
Why Hydey did absolutely nothing to stop makeo until 2 turns before the spaceship landed remains a mystery.

Hydey wasn't going to do anything until I suggested that unless he attacked and took makeo's capital the game would be over. "Oh"
Of course, Hydey had no troops so by the time he rush built an assault force and ships and sailed them over to makeo's capital there were only 2 turns left before makeo's spaceship landed.
I don't think I could put into words my frustration.

I think a lot of our games are maturing towards some conflict - just a hunch, not that I'm planning anything. Much easier to defend
