How to improve your eyesight without eyeglasses, contacts or surgery Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

A friend of mine just had a LASIK surgery so I searched the Web for information about it. And I found this. Really, I don't know if I should laugh or cry... Its high time we had an armed branch of the Sceptics...

http://www.program-for-better-visio...ye-surgery.html

For 39.95$, that scumbag will send you his so-called program for better vision. It includes:

quote:

a 202 page Book
2 CDs or 3 Audio Tapes
Fusion String
5 Powerful Vision Charts

He informs us that:

quote:
How Can the Cambridge Institute for Better Vision Correct Poor Vision —
When No One Else Can?

You might be one of the millions who have come to believe one or more of the six most popular misconceptions about your vision:

1. Poor vision is inherited;

2. Vision inevitably deteriorates with age;

3. Poor vision is caused by certain visual activities;

4. Weak eye muscles cause poor vision;

5. Seeing is solely a physical, mechanical process.
But the most common eyesight myth is:

6. The quality of vision is determined only by the
shape of the eye.

According to this theory, if your eyes are the "correct" shape, you will have clear vision. If they're misshapen or distorted, you'll suffer vision problems.

(These misconceptions are explored in detail in The Program for Better Vision. Read why I call them "Vision Myths" and find out what the limiting factors to vision are.)

The three best things I know to improve eyesight without physical intervention are:

1. Sleep
2. Fish oil
3. Certain vitamins

Other than that, not sure what else will do it.

Actually, this idea isn't wholly without merit. The military has some eye exercises to help strengthen their pilots' visual acuity, both for eye movement and focusing. Men's Health magazine had an article and chart just recently (we get those kinds of magazines in a gym, naturally). I'd post a scan of it, but I forgot to make one.

Come on, you must be joking! The guy is saying that someone with severe myopia, like me, can have 20/20 vision without glasses, contacts or surgery. There is absolutely no merit in that!

The "natural" remedies you guys mentioned might improve my vision, but only slightly. But I'm sceptical. They sound like old wives tales, if you ask me. And DRoseDARs, I'm sure you know you don't have to believe everything they say in Men's magazines, nor everything the military suggests.

Notice I didn't provide a percentage of how much merit it had versus how much it didn't. I'm sure this guy is selling snake oil. Men's Health is still a well-established (no, it isn't pornographic if that's what you're getting at) publication: They do their research. And obviously, your eyesight has to be pretty decent to begin with to be a fighter pilot; the military's eye exercises merely build upon that.

I hear adds for this type of stuff every other day on the radio.
A friend of mine at work swears by it. He had marginally bad vision prior. He now no longer wears glasses and passed the vision portion of his drivers test which he previously failed. So in some circumstances, it may actualy work.

I would expect Eye doctors to call it garbage.
Even if they're right.
