Who do you want #3 to be? Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

Assuming that we're on a 3 v 3 continent type setup, who would you want to be our third buddy?

Put an end to popups!

BAT.

Just imagine, Portugese, French and English/German teams stuck on the same continent.

Diplomacy would be a nightmare

I'm thinking that we'd want BAT. Even though we (I) want an ally to eliminate CBR, we (I) also want an ally whom we can keep control over. From what I know of PAL, they're expert multiplayers, while CDZ has expert PBEMers (reading their spoilers sure makes for an interesting time!). I don't know too much about CGN nor BAT, either, although CGN comes across as good planners.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

BAT keeps us away from the ancient age UUs, and thus more likely to be able to stay at peace or win a war, whichever way we choose to go.

I voted BAT, because of the control issues. However, that would mean that PAL and CGN (Trip with ET's spreadsheets) would probably hook up together against us. Not a good thought.

Possibly I should have voted for PAL. Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.

BAT

Both the German team and the Apolyton team got along wonderfully with the folks from the French group in the past (unless there's something that someone's not telling me...).

Besides, I like the idea of sticking PAL and CGN on the same continent to be competitors.

what a ridiculous question

Looking at the ocean evelaed by our Enkudu warrior I guess there might be another continent close to ours where could be our next neighbour.

I don't think we will be attacking the third civ on our continent for a while, at least hopefully not.

Bah, Trip is very active, from what I've seen over at UN. Besides, he's the one that posted about the "Holy Grail of City Growth" or something like that. 3 turn growth without Granary, which they seem to be doing now.

And I would say that their choice of Worker first was also from him.

And yeah, it would be really funny, if CGN and PAL are right next to each other, like us and CBR. FP doesn't really like Trip and Trip is too much of an egomaniac to work properly with PAL. As a matter of fact, he's likely already plotting their distruction (and PAL doing same).

But that's conjecture at this time.

Inflate your Upload Space

You know, it might be BAT and they may already have contact with CBR.

Think on this:
BAT has CB & Alpha
CBR has Pottery & Alpha

What would you trade??

We found CBR with CB, but what if they didn't get it from hut??

The only other team that starts with CB is CGN.

Tired of ads?

And this is funny, if CGN, CDZ and PAL are all on the same continent, I would really love to be a fly on the wall, for whatever wars start to crop up, over there.

It would be very entertaining, like that "popcorn save" from the SPDG1 game.

yeah you did miss something...

I do not think any of the germans here thinks diffrent then Zeri as Bat was just too treacherous!
And if their team did not change they are a bunch of noobs! Did you see their city planing in round 1? They had many empty tiles which could not been used by any city and some were even bonus graslands!

And I do not want bat as an ally, but as a puppet!

So my vote goes to Bat!

Not that bad, they only used unfair tactics and are not trustworthy, but at least they did not cheat.

I've been thinking for a long time...

If the hand of God is alive on this map, then would he set celt swords or mw's loose on the defensive, commercial continent?

Or would he think it was 'evening it up' by putting the ancient offensive UUs together?

I would think the actual placement of the Civ types were done randomly without thought of whom was with whom.

And if it was totally random as to which civs had gotten what sites, it's very possible that CBR did NOT start on the coast, which would make it more important for them to have their first city on the coast (as I think might have happened).

I would say that, terrain/Resource wise, that each start is essentually the same, with some give and take. And the score results, more or less bare that out.

I agree, it's likely CBR did not start on the coast; but very near as I predict we all did. The only thing left to guess is whether or not Horses, Iron, ect are all equally available. I'd be very surprised if they were not.
