MP game Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I was just wondering why everyone plays by E-Mail. Does no one play by IPX? is there a reason why not? Just some quick qeustions dealing with MP :P

Tired of ads?

TCP/IP play requires a block of several hours to be devoted by each player involved, and doesn't allow for the intricate strategy and plotting that's possible in year-long games. Furthermore, IIRC, there are some version conflicts that are only an issue in TCP/IP play.

I see, so you games actually last a year long or more? Thats insane. When the game first came out, I played on the official website's mathmaking program. Those games were mostly geared towards quick annihilations with military force. That was a while ago.
Anyways, exactly how do these PBEM games work? (if you could give a quick layman's term explination)

There are players willing to play especially TCP/IP or IPX games. I would write it maybe in thread name, so more people can see it right away.

I have difficulty finding several hours for such games. So prefer rather pbem now.

Playing a year long game has in fact a lot of good sides. Improved strategy, since you have more time on careful planning. Though you might list it under disadvantages too - you spend this much more time on playing.

Some players to contact in case you want to play TCP/IP:

Lazerus (can be found in the forum users)
T_Ras (same here)

and Last_Evolution (try not to chat with him, he's one of those pretty annoying "Im the bestest guys", but if you avoid to much talk, you can get a fun game).
his ICQ: 133-725-817

I and mart7x5 used to play too, but as people get older more time needs to be devoted to working, family and RL in general.

Been awhile since ive had long enough for decent IP games, normally prefer to play Age of empires if ive got a couple of hours spare these days.
Used to be a fair few people who played though, Thrar, Phobos, Arc, Mart, Rothe, Jamski, Dmad etc

Sweet! Thanks for the info alot. I'm excited to see about starting a game this weekend, as I have alot of time off (wahoo labor day). If anyone is interested, you can either PM or Reply to a new thread that I'll post here shortly.

Keep in Mind, I just found the game the other day and I haven't played in ages so I will prolly get overwhelmed but, we'll see (hows that for a run on).

In addition to MP games this weekend (or instead of, as a lot of people will probably be offline due to the holiday) you can always try the SP Challenges over at CGN . Some very good games for single player, with some really souped up AI's!
