.. I guess.
I'm angry and sad at the same time. Not because of the thread title but ... it happened yet again. My mom called me, I was asleep so of course she called me, drunk. I was totally pissed off she called me drunk, because I knew it meant she couldn't call me sober. WTF is that all about?
Ok so I thought maybe she had little bit of wine and a drink. But I quickly realized she's not being coherent at all. It was just stupid. I wanted to say call me when you're sober, and actually I did say that but she wouldn't get the message, as usual.
She wouldn't understand half the finnish I told her, I had to speak SLOWLY and all that stuff. It was irritating. If she wasn't such a weak paranoid person, I would have told her off, but I didn't dare because she would have done something stupid I guess and cry for a year. LIke a little child she is, not a mature adult sometimes.
She said well, when can she come and see me. I said September. She was like ooh so you don't want to see me? I said no, September is like in few days. My job ends then and I have better time. "you don't want to see me" X 100. I mean, DO YOU SPEAK MY LANGUAGE?!?!? I SAID OK! YES, IN FEW DAYS IT WILL BE OK!!!!!
This phonecall laster for 30 minutes. I had to explain myself over and over agian. Then she says well, I have someting important but I can't tell it until we see. I said, well now you have to because it'll bother me. I had to soften her up for good 5 minutes until she told me. Little crying in the middle, drunken babbling... and then.. 'We are going to adopt a kid'.
So? It's not like I didn't expect this. But most of all, I don't have anything against it. Why not. GO ahead. Your life. Plus, if it helps some unfortunate kid out there, I can't be a small person about that.
Then some more drunken irritating ****, repeator on, and then she started *****ing how my aunt was here and I said it's cool if she visits me.. FOR AN HOUR. YOu see, she was here in my city, and called if she can come by. I said I have to go to work so I don't have lots of time but if that's ok, then sure. And she came over, and I literally almost right then started dropping her off. My mom got totally *****ing and even hostile, that she got to visit me but not her. I told her, that I figured she don't want to visit me for an hour but do something proper, and it was few weeks ago and my job is ending soon anyway. ONLY makes perfect sense. She agrees, only to disagree 5 seconds later, little crying, whining, *****ing and hostility.
She was SUPER irritating with the whole drunk thing. But I didn't say anything bad, but I guess I did sound a little bit tired. She did wake me up though.
Then when she was again repeating herself, backtracking into old issues like my aunt visiting me but not her, I asked her the days she's working (shes in here for a month, working), so I can look up some days and arrange it. She didn't understand what I meant. I talked slowly 'ARE .. YOU.. WORKING... NOW..'. She wouldn' tunderstand. I thought **** if she don't have a brain damage, then this is not something oen can explain anymore. Then little crying, hostility, *****ing, and basically she hang off. It was like we were in different conversations. I tried to find out her free days, and she got more hostile. And 'I don't u nderstand'. ANd eventually hung up on me.
I was so ****ing pissed off by all of this, that .. you know, you would think I've been hard on her for the last couple of years. With all the threads and stuff., But you see.. I haven't told her those things. I've not said those things to her at all.
So it's like she's the dad who left for pack of smokes and never came back, and then calls every once or twice a year only to ***** and cry, and tell something new like 'we are having a baby'. message #1. 'we are going to go to court to take your dads money' message #2. 'You hate me don't you? WHYYYY"!!"21* message #3. That's like 18 months worth of messages and topics for her.
And she's SO passive aggressive, the most I ever see a person be. She always says I blame her and she's about to cry for another year. It's like youi can't say anything to her, at all. I ****ing lost my respect for her and gain it back by HARD WORK mentally, and now she does everything to make me think she deserves no respect. It's not helping. I'll try but I have to say I'm losing my faith pretty soon.
I know the next message too, that should come in 6 months. It's the one where they have sued my dad over all he has got (which is not much I might add, he's surviving), because she deserves to be compensated for the marriage that she walked off from without any notice to marry another man and havbe another kid, and that they will take him for everything.
How do I know this? Because I've known ALL her messages for the last 2 years, 0% mistake rate I have had. I've just imagined the worst case scenario. Works out every ****ing time. I'm not eve surprised these days.
But as for the kid. I won't turn my back on it. He/she can count on me when it.. well counts. Unlike some other people it seems like.

To be honest, even if she is no alcoholic,
she doesn´t sound to be psychologically fit to raise another kid.
Sounds IMHO like she will sooner or later get too overprotective of her kid and probably also forget to think of the child as an independent person which has to grow up and find his own place in life, but rather like some kind of pet which is there to be a target of all her love (and give her the love she misses).
IMHO she should consult a psychologist first, before she adopts a child. (at least if she´s always so unstable as in the Telephone calls you mention)

yeah it pisses me off she screws everything up. And then plays the victim. IT's so frustrating.
I don't think she's truly insane, you know she's really not, but she does have some issues though. She always used that 'i am your mother and I love you' as an excuse to ANYTHING she did to me. Yet, she was pretty liberal about stuff, but everytime we clashed, that was the reason, and then second later she played the victim. So you can't really even argue with her at all.
I know why she's getting the kid and it's EXACTLY what Proteus said. That is the truth, in front of God I believe that to be 100% case in here. However at the same time, I do think the kid will be better off, if it's some troubled kid. For sure, better conditions. Kind of difficult to know what I should be thinking. She always leaves me in wtf-mode these days with a mental punch in the stomach.
