	ASVAB results Increase the size of your Attachments

Well gang, like I promised you all I'm posting my score-for better or for worse.

I have a tale to tell about just trying to get into Pearl Harbor Naval Base, but I'll save it.

Nevertheless, I was disheveled when I got in to the testing center. I took the ASVAB and did pretty good. I didn't get a 90+ like a lot of guys here...I got an 89.

I scored the highest for Admin in the A.F. and second highest in Mechanical...I'm hoping my bachelor's in Psych helps me in the Admin position.

I've been asked why I wanna go enlisted first? Because (potential) officers get more respect if ppl know they were enlisted first. Regardless if I become an officer or not, I'm gonna try.

What was funny was that when I went to the reception desk with my score, another person asked me what Armed Forces I was joining. I told him AF and he said, so your score is 89-92...I'm banking on 89.

He was correct. Then he said, well damn, I'm Army so I got a 45.

Anyway, that's my score, 89. Laugh if you want, but I'm keeping my word. I just gotta schedule my physical and then I'm gonna serve my country like any good citizen should.

It's been a few years, but I think I managed somewhere between 93 and 96. The hounding from the Army, Navy, and Air Force went on for years...

Hmmm...as tempting as going enlisted is, I'm still gonna try for the JAG corps after law school (god willing I get in...) or just some post-grad ROTC-like program...but I *really* have no intention of going enlisted first, heh.

Franky, do not go the enlisted route. As I mentioned in the other thread, the AF is top heavy, with lots of officers. It is very unlikely for enlisted personnel to promoted to an officer. If you were going into another service, that would be fine, but not the Air Force.

Well, it was 18 years ago. I can't remember the exact score, but my buddy got a 97 or 98 and I got one higher than him. I remember my recruiter looking flabbergasted at my results and saying I couldn't have scored any higher, which leads me to believe I got a 99.

Yeah, I enlisted in the Air Farce 18 years ago. Being asthmatic, however, I was discharged before I left for basic.

bah, getting the run around for 1 and 1/2 hours would screw with anyone. I think I did bad on those word problems...so I suck at math...oh well.

But yeah, regardless of what people say, I'm going enlisted first. If I don't make officer, that's my problem.

If that's a simple percentile score (which I think it is) then 99 isn't particularly difficult to accomplish.

equivalent to a 135 IQ or a 1400 on the SATs

Plus I can't imagine that the people taking the ASVAB are particularly top-heavy, so it's probably more like the 98th percentile of the general public
