Anybody read them? I do, and I am a casual collector. It's been a while since I took a count but I quite sure I have over 250 not counting graphic novels.
I've really been getting into graphic novels, and out of the traditional superhero saves the day things.
I really dig Alan Moore (you'd be a fool not to) and of course Frank Miller, Grant Morrison's 'The Filth' was just plain psychedelic to read, Osamu Tezuka has this really cool manga called Buddha about Siddartha and ancient India, also Sam Kieth is a genius with the Maxx.
As for artists, I have recently fallen in love with Mike Mignolas art in Hellboy, and I was amazed to find out that Frank Miller is a self taught artist and drew all of the art for Sin City, Neal Adams is good, Juan Jose Ryp blew me away of Frank miller's Robocop not to sound like a total Miller fanboy but the series is and I picked it up originally because of the incredibly detailed art, this guy's stuff isn't extremely lifelike, but has an amazing intense cartoon quality in it which is paired gainst incredible gore and which. It creates a very striking contradiction.

Nope. Never liked a comic book. But I absolutely love webcomics, my current favorite is Schlock Mercenary. I read about a half dozen webcomics daily (or however often they update).

I used to read Mad religiously back in the 70's. Then I got into Heavy Metal when they were running The Airtight Garage. I stopped reading sometime after the Ranxerox story ended. HM had some of the strangest story lines. I also used to follow Art Spiegelman's RAW. That had some of the best comics I have ever read.
I also read the Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns. I was never really into the whole super hero thing, but Frank Miller made Batman exciting and interesting.

Ming is a BIG fan of comics, and I'm sure he'll be along shortly to say so.
I haven't read them for years. However, I did love them, especially obscure ones. Brain Boy was cool.
But Herbie Popnecker comics were the greatest. You can have your Man of Steel or your Dark Knight, I'll take little 3 x 3. Herbie would be getting yelled at by his dad for not mowing the grass, when a call would come in from the President. Herbie would go into his drawer full of lollipops, pull out one maked "flying" and go zooming off to his next adventure. More than one bad guy was apprehended after been bashed by a lollipop. "Burp." I remember once when the bad guys had Herbie tied to a tree in India and left to the mercies of a man-eating Bengal tiger. The tiger stopped in mid-pounce to exclaim, "Herbie! Herbie Popnecker! Gee, I never thought I'd meet a famous guy like you out here in the jungle! Can I have your autograph??"
