I agree. This would be a worthy thought if it happened anywhere except the USA. Especially when it's to help a bunch of people stupid enough to live in a coastal city that's bellow sea level.

Well good luck to you all, my point is that America shoots itself in the foot during emergencies over some dogma and hate.

I'd spare some money except that I can't, I make less then $6000 dollars a year without having to pay for outrageous gas prices. I wish I could, but I can't, I'm running low on food also so can't help there. The only thing I could do was give blood but I can't cause my government says I'm inelligable, even though I've had 1 partner for 5 years with no STDs with either of us. I find it pretty pathetic what the FDA did, being that half of all HIV in the USA is in black straight Females, I guess the FDA doesn't dare try to stop them from giving blood even though they are the highest risk group, be racist wouldn't it?

I've said my peace of why I can't help, so I'll we begone for now, I wish you all luck.

Ming as a moderator do u think you could talk to the owners of the site to set up such a fund. I think it would be great if Apolytoners contributed $xx,xxx.xx.

I also think people would be more comfortable about sending it to apolyton as opposed to me or some other individual.

And for all those with a political ax to grind - remember I am not talking about Americans here I am talking about human beings that happen to live in America.

I think that this is great idea. I would be glad to make a donation to it once it is set up and running. I already gave some money to the Red Cross but I am willing to give more. I am sure they will need all the help that they can get. This diaster is the worst I have seen or even heard about in the US for decades. Those poor people are going to need all the help they can get.

SpencerH needs a new roof. Even though his insurance will pay for most of it, he's still got a deductable.

DinoDoc's been without power for days. I'm sure he's lost a bit of food.

I imagine more than a few Polytubbies live in the area. Many of them have probably lost food, jobs, and are spending what money they have on hotels, etc.
