	Buzz marketing Tired of ads?

Well well well...

I'm looking forward to playing to Civ IV. I think about civ IV at least once a week ! Mind you, I'm completely fond of something which does not exist yet.

But this has little to do with the communication campaign of Firaxis and its business partners. In fact, the link between my envy to play and Firaxis is quite indirect.

You know what ? This link is YOU. You're one of Firaxis' most powerful means of communication. Talking about, exchanging "exclusive" infos slightly distilled by... by who btw ? you're building a "pre-release atmosphere". Quite positive as a matter of fact. And not so expensive for the beneficiary.

I'm just setting forth a fact, I'm not judging the phenomenon. It won't prevent me from buying civ on Amazon as soon as it is released. It won't prevent YOU from doing the same thing.

But it's always a valuable posture to keep some small pieces of reality in mind. Just in case we get too excited.

Ah, so you were lying the first time. That's (marginally) okay, or perhaps things just CHANGED.

In any society, people are "using" other people to help get what they want. Civ fans are willing, even EAGER to be used as "tools" by Firaxis (and Take 2) to help their bottom line. In exchange, we get humongous value of time for our gold.
