Tech Tree Map? Remove this text

Anyone know what it will be? I hope it's not like it was in Civ III, wich for the life of me I can't remeber what it was, except I was really disapointed with it.

I hope it's like CtP2 was, that was an awsome tech tree map, listed all the units, tech, buildings, wonders, etc etc,

so does anyone know?

Davor

As I recall (I haven't played Ctp2 for ages), the Ctp2 pedia and tech tree was a PITA to use.

Ah yes ! AA... (Apolyton's Acronyms)

However I disagree. CTP2 tech tree is quite ATTE (agreable to the eye), even if it is not very well deviced.

Civ4's tech tree is PNK(probably not known), we do have the one posted in the other thread right qabove yours Yolky(), but I doubt it's authentic.

CtP2's tech tree is excellent and extremely helpful. The only problem is that the mods rendered it obsolete just weeks after release

Wait, are you talking about the paper one?

I'm thinking of the one in-game.

Suffering from ads?

I think you only get the paper one if you pre-order it from some place. I don't know if I like the idea of tech trees though; one patch or mod later and your tech tree is obsolete.

They just need to make the tech tree out of that electronic paper so it autmaticly updates the tree when you mod the game

I don't care for mods right now. I want to play the game as it was made. If we have to play with mods right away that means Firaxis did not do it's job when making Civ IV and the game is not that good that we have to make mods right away.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

People here will make mods and complain about the game, and this has nothing to do with the game being a good game or not. That's the Apolyton truth.

You have a point. I'm very careful about installing a rules mod, because you end with a different game, losing the opportunity to share opinion and tactics with the main group of players.

Instead, I have no problem to install terrain mod, as I used at least a couple (made by Sn00py and Warpstorm, IIRC) with Civ III Conquest. A terrain mod doesn't alter the gameplay, so it's a safe choice.

I'm ready to change my mind with Civ IV, where it seems really easy to rollback to original setup if the rules mod doesn't fit your taste, and where I suppose will be unavoidable to split the community into different Civ IV "branches" (one for every succesful mod).

That said, the game must be playable out of the box if not for very minor last minute balancing tuning I can accept to do after install.
