Essentially what happened (to me - cata's instance might be slightly different) was that during a turn update one of my attack 4/1/4 foils turned into a 0/3r/4 transport. Never seen it before, haven't seen it since, but FYI in case you want to keep your eyes open for it.

I've had units vanish on me before during TCP/IP games only to return 3 turns later, but thats the weirdest I've come across.

What do you think causes this transformation bug? Bad unit ID?

i replicated it darsnan,but im not sure how unlimited the effect is.i will test it out more today. it didnt happan during turn update tho...

its not a lame cocktease if i had mod ability,it would have been deleted. we need a CMN forum maybe that way i dont need to spam bin with pm's and asking nicely does wonders,instead of asking how to force me

hasnt someone posted before about turning something like 60-70 sea formers into armed cruisers?

i will send all 3 of you pms if you want by 'keep it to myself' i was refering to the community,not CMN. i would assume the vets,like dars just said,have already experianced it

edit; it will prolly be tomoroow or whenever i finsih my testing on it. id rather have more complete info

I haven't heard of anyone posting to this effect before. This issue, coupled with the other one you described, makes me think you've got a corrupted loading.

only works if the design isnt in the workshop yet. such as the rover formers and rover CP you start with. so its a free 3 crawlers at best,and unprototyped...althoughi t might remove the un-protoed status.

now if only darsnan dosnt pay attention to FC for a few

There is a CMN forum at CGN, but you're not authorised to that because you're not a regular CMN.

I seem to see a need to authorise you to that one as you are a good bug/exploit finder and could share your findings securely..

I do remember several occasions on the SP game when I transfer some units to another faction and then later on upgrade my own units (through workshop), those transferred units would change into something different.
Like when I was upgrading my copters and transferred infantry garrisons turned into the same kind of copters.

i wonder if you have something there with the corrupted sav thought darsnan. i cant replicate it without that game...although the fact that its happaned before just must mean im not doing something right

One time, in TCP/IP after I got silksteel and made two 1-4-1 defensive units, they shortly after vanished. I confirm this bug. Completely frustrating.

Another time, in pbem my friend mindcontrolled a base of mine with a fighter <8>-1-8, they changed into two 8-1-10 bombers. Is it a bug at all? I have impression, it is kinda intended.

I never checked that out actually . But most often this happens when I get fusion power and upgrade my units en masse. I hope my allies won't find out that it's me turning their 1-3p-1 garrisons into 1-1-2*2 rovers

Sounds like your computer or install is directly related to it. I'm having difficulty replicating it according to your instructions.
