Administration: Addressing the slowdown Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Evening all.

Remember me? I'm an Admin, and it seems I am needed. I've got a few emails and PMs recently asking for help with ensuring the game keeps going at the pace it was some time ago. With OPD apparently away, there doesn't seem to be many in the way of Admins who can help push this along. So please allow me to return to help you all sort this out.

I have PMed all the Team Captains, OPD and Dominae. Hopefully with their help (and yours) I can try to get this game back to high gear. I intend to try to get a concrete answer on the 24 hour rule and make it well known, then to enforce it. There will always be exceptions, but those exceptions can't be assumed - delays can't be automatically accommodated all the time, else we'll all get nowhere and lose interest.

So for the meantime, please, help out your team and team captains with anything that is needed - playing the save, organising contact details, or whatever else. As ever, if there are any questions, pieces of relevant info or advice you think I should have, team disputes to try to settle, or cries of 'Who the hell are you and what does all this mean?', please direct them to me via PM or email, and I'll do my best for everyone.

Cheers guys,

game on....

Lost Boys have 18 members, several listed in multiple teams. They also have had the save for 32.5 hours at this time.

It is well known that for a long time now they have had only one member - that being 1889. They have been very timely in their turn play up until now. He is or will shortly be in the process of moving to Alaska (yes - ya gotta wonder. ). The team is in transition - with Lord Nuclear taking over I understand. I think we can accomodate that.

You rasie a good point Ruby. As 1889 was essentially playing solo, he saw this as the best way to facilitate diplomacy. LB's moves were not discussed; nor do any of us interlopers have access to the game save.

But, it is an unusual situation for a demo game - and given the pending change in leadership, it may be a good time to go back to the standard way of doing things - with all the 'extras' from other teams leaving.

OK, I've emailed NukeMaster (and all others who were getting the save), and he/they have another 9 hours (until

1830 New York time,
2330 London
0030 Berlin
0130 Jerusalem
0630 Perth
1030 Wellington (ME)
0330 LA )

to play or get orders to me to play, else I will have to skip. Of course I still need either NM or the Desolation Row team to forward the email sent to the Lost Boys to the Admin email address, else I can't skip!

I'll keep everyone posted. But sleep now.

I'm very glad to hear it.

Crisis is over for now, but I will be keeping an eye on the forums where I can. I am trying to take some steps to ensure that this happens either less often, or not at all. If anyone suspects a delay in future and OPD is not here to sort it out, please email me, because my differing timezone means I may not be on here to see exactly when things fall apart.
