This is about the real games... because any fantasy talk only comes from what happens on the field. Plus, some of us are in fantasy leagues that are not associated with this site, and since we don't have a sports forum here, the fantasy gets discussed with real football...

I know that this week isn't over yet, but I'm already looking forward to next weekend when that high powered Cincy Offense (Did I really just sat that?!?!?!) come to play the new Monsters at Soldiers Field. Should be a good game.

Mmm... that's going to be interesting. Cincy's mediocre defense against Chicago's bad offense; Chicago's great defense against Cincy's decent offense.

I think that game will be a bears win, but ALL of the points will be scored by Mike Brown and Nathan Vashar. 14-6, bears.

Edit: And I mean *all*. Nathan Vashar kicks two extra points after Doug Brien pulls a hamstring on the opening kickoff.

Put an end to popups!

The ending of that Rams/Cardinals game left me disgusted with a bad taste in my mouth, and not just because I despise and loathe St. Louis with a passion.

How cheap is it having your last gasp taken from you by a stupid clock runoff rule? The purpose of adding the runoff is to prevent the offense from intentionally stopping the clock - which the Cardinals clearly weren't doing. Why make the runoff mandatory? Why not make it a judgment call by the referee gaging the intent of the offense? If they just penalize the yardage, Arizona gets the fair crack at winning the game that it had earned - and the game gets decided where it belongs (on the field) rather than by the stripes and the arbitrary nature of the rules.

My apologies for the rant, but seriously... that was just not cool.

The cardinals have no one to blame but warner on that. Its inconceivable that he would not spike the ball there thus allowing his line to set correctly.

I'll believe that when I see them beat a GOOD defense.

Reis, that runoff was necessary, and it's why the rule was there. Otherwise they'd have done ...

... exactly what they did. A play called on audible is far, far worse than a play called from the bench in a huddle - with fresh players and strategy etc. - unless you're Peyton Manning anywho ... the 10 seconds is necessary to prevent teams from 'accidentally' false starting to stop the clock. Putting it in the ref's hands would be a mistake, as it would mean more ref-related whining, and there's no realistic way of telling if someone intentionally false started or not - and even if they didn't, they'd still get a significant benefit out of it.

They lost it on the field. They lost it when their O-lineman was too fidgety. That's like saying a team lost to a pass interference call on a long pass ... true, but it shouldn't demean the victory for the other side nor excuse the team who committed the penalty. They did, and they paid a quite reasonable price for it.

When the hell are my Colts going to get an offense... sigh

I'll say one thing. Someone in the league needs to be able to block the Colts D-Line. Jonathan Ogden constantly needed a back to hold Freeney, and Freeney still got pressure. Today, the Jags triple teamed Freeney all game, Freeney got a sack, but...

...the entire D-Line got 6 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

They murdered Leftwich today.

EDIT: Colts are favoured by 16 versus the Browns. Doesn't Vegas realise the Colts need to be able to score 16 in order to cover that spread

Warner did a great (amazing) job getting the ball down there, and playing as well as he did. The ARI O-line is pitiful. They had so many holding penalties because they couldn't block the Rams D-line for ****. They lost because they suck.

There's no way that MORE "ref's judgment" should be added to the NFL rules. The fact that the Cards got screwed by the runoff rule does suck, but the simple fact is that they screwed up.

You pay the price for screwing up. It's tough, but this is the big leagues, baby.

Anyone watching the Giants/Saints game?

You know, I don't blame the Giants fans from going out to enjoy their own team. But the way they have been cheering loudly on defense in such a way as to make it harder for the offense to run- they should know this extra home game only because of a hurricane which killed thousands of people. Truly a classless act by the Giants fans.

Giants Fans

Oh, and a huge to the NFL suits who scheduled this game of all places in the New York area. There was no reason they needed to do that, and they punished the Saints with all they have been through with another away game. Would have made more sense to put in Texas where there'd be more Saints fans and where there would also be local Cowboys Fans who would have come out to cheer against their division rival.

NFL

I have no problem with the fans cheering for the "home" team. They paid for tickets and can cheer however they want.

I do have a SERIOUS problem with the NFL scheduling the game in New York... That's just WRONG!

OH YEAH!

Tremendous win for our team, and considering how we have been playing against Dallas we REALLY needed this one. Now if our offense can just play like it did in the 4th quarter, we're going to be set for the season.

You missed a really good half a quarter. I started watching again just as it got interesting.

Brunell got sacked for a 17 yard loss. It was 3rd and 27, he ran for 25, then on 4th down had a nice 10-15 yard pass. Then after a bit it was like 4th and 7, and he completed for like a 40 yard touchdown.

Dallas got the ball back and didn't do much with it, punted. Brunell smoked them with a long 70-80ish yard touchdown pass.

All in like 5 minutes. What an incredible comeback.

Full PM-box? Change here!

While Washington did beat the Bears in week one, it was a lame performance at best... held to three field goals. I thought there was NO was they could produce two touchdowns in the remaining time based on what the first part of the game, and the week before.

What a surprise.
