	I can't attach files to my posts - can anyone suggest why this might be? Put an end to popups!

Well, as the title says.

I've got an image of the league table that I want to post in the Football Manager thread in other games (heavily cut down, mind you - I don't want to destroy the server with loads of pointless images), but when I go to Post Reply, the button for attach file doesn't work.
Help!

Are you sure that your file isn't more than 600*800 pixels?

Otherwise, do you always try to post a new reply, or do you want to edit an existing one? You can't add pics when editing a post that had no attachment to begin with.

Remember you need to use "browse" to specify a file first...

Nope, I don't even get a button next to the list of file types. Well, there is one, but it's about two characters thick (miniscule), and has nothing on it. Clicking it does nothing. Ironically, I can't attach a picture of this to show you.

Um, you know where the file is on your computer right?

You're still seeing the textbox at the bottom of the Post Reply thing, right? The one next to Attach file:.

Just type in the complete filename there, like, "C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\blah.txt"... Whatever the filename is.

If you don't know the file and path, right-click the file you want to attach, click Properties, select and copy the Location field and paste it into the attachment textbox.

Write your post and submit as usual...

Does that work, or not?


... And then there's also the possibility of uploading your files using Apolyton's upload service. Upload the files there and post a link to them in your post... But then maybe the upload area has the same problem.

Nope, doesn't like that either.

I don't want to upload it - it's a picture of the league from a football game, and nothing to do with Civ.
I'll just type out the first couple of lines when I can be bothered. Thanks though Mercator.

Maybe it's some sort of firewall, virus scanner or other security software thingy that disabled it?

You can upload a picture of what you see to help people determine what the problem is.
You can also try a different browser. Speaking of which, what browser (& version) do you use?

Just a suggestion but I think the main cause could be the skill of the operator in performing said function.

You could read out the relevant section into a mic, record it onto a .wav file, and then post the file here! And all without having to move your (not particularly) capacious butt!
