I have to wonder about their map. who explores like that? Essentially they beelined for where we are, completely ignoring their southland. That's a big hmm from a lurker.
And where did they meet the 3rd civ? Very strange.

Suffering from ads?

re development

We knew they had three cities. We also knew they have no granery and have shot their bolt early. Their cap is 2 pop for a few turns now. We will have 3 cities as soon as 4 turns from now, and a size 4-6 cap that will sooner give us 4, and then 5, and then 6 cities soon after that.

re Scouting

They went North for the same reason we went South. They knew someone would be there.

They did not meet CDZ. CDZ ran a warrior into their borders if I read the chats properly.

Best guess is that CDZ is a little E of due S from Apolyton and on a general line run SE from CBR cap.

Get a bigger avatar today!

We'll find a third civ borders in the arc S to SE of where Dumuzi is right now.

I am not positive it is CDZ. All we have to go on for that is CBRs word which is as of yet unproven, to me.

I guess CBR have explored along the coast. It is a gamble where to go and in this case they met us. Otherwise they would have met CDZ.

I think we will find very soon CDZ

Tired of ads?

BF, thanks mate. I'll make a sim tonight based on the new info.

But it looks like wiping CBR off the map would give us alot of very nice land.

As nye has said, we are the ones that are going to be expanding quickly, not they.

We have a 60 shield granary. If they want to start building that now, it will take about minimum 12 turns. In that amount of time, we can build 3 settlers and 2-3 Enks.

So we would then be ahead of them, and the quicker growth in our second city, because it has access towheat, will be about eual to the growth in the two cities they already have.

So, to be perfectly honest, we are ahead of them, in useable GNP, and MFG, and growth. The only thing that they have on us is a beeline to philo or Monarchy, but we have IW to counter that.

We can beat CBR, rest assured on that topic.

---

And I'm with nye on the 3rd civ hypothesis. We have no proof that it is CDZ, only CBRs' word, and I will take Regentman and the other members of CFC at their word that CBR are not to be trusted.

Well it would be very obvious if CBR lied as we will find out sooner or later and then we will be angry...so I do not think they lied...

But their capital would be a nice location for our forbidden palace

I don't have a reason to suspect CBR so far. At least no more than any other opponent in any other game who I don't know

The CBR capital is too far away to be an effective FP city.

I reckon it would just be better to put the FP about 10 tiles away to the south/southwest

Some musings on their city Placement:

Their city 2 should have been placed at 9 from it's current location, so as to get the Ivory connected up.

Their city 3 would have been better for them, if it was at 7-7-7 from city 2 instead of where it's at now. There isn't really much of Bonus tiles, at it's current Location to be very useful, even for just building Curraghs, as it will be a slow grower and low on SPT. Were as, on that river, they would have had the Cows and Fish and Agri growth and the extra trade from the River (besides the extra for Seafaring). Would have given them a really good trade balance boost and that city could have been a really good worker pump.

All in all, bad city placements, while they now (more than likely) are working on building a Granary in their Capitol.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

It would also seem that CBR also got a Hut with a Map in it. So that is 2 huts that they got.

This city placement allows them free movement of units between them for one turn. I can't see another reason.

And they are still at the wrong side of the river if we are going to attack them

I'm really hoping the continent is "/" shaped as that would give us tremendous leverage in picking our allies (and our battles). It's always better to be the bread, than being the ham.

However, a "fair" map would have to have a necessarily triangular placement. Which would put CDZ south of us. Just how south is the question. It is quite possible that CDZ has not found us because they have had a more central location on the world map prompting them to explore east-west first, which is almost a natural instinct.

Maybe they put their cities close together for defence purposes.
