Just make the AIs surrender to you and help you researching.
It's not simple, at all. But maybe you can do the same in this game.

Hey, Tigtoad, if you get both progenitors to surrender, you will sure be able to kick our ass big time!

On the 2172 transcend, Fist is right those kind of games are played on tiny map mainly land and the key is to enslave everybody within the first 20 turns. More details on that particular game (record with the Gaians)
