Sneak, I just think if you have a facility for language, which you so obviously do, then you should work with words.
Now back to the game: I doubt if we will be playing another session of the finbar/Hydey. I could be wrong but they seem to be both just waiting passively for the horse force to come and get them. This is no good at all because my hoardes need something to chase to get interested. As it stands, my forces would just walk up and sniff their cities, perhaps take a piss, and then walk home again

Fin, you are the classic curmudgeon.
I might point out that I have never seen you quote source once in all of your myriad answers in the music threads. But I'm sure you have some miniscule rule about volume plagarism not being a foul or some such nonsense. Or, you could argue that all of that knowledge, being already present in your vast and superior mind, only needed a bit of prodding and you weren't really referencing. I thought paraphrasing was also quoting, but I'm sure I'm wrong about that as well.
But doing that would unkindly subject (no split there, whew!) you, publicly, to a similarly ignoble charge, deflecting from the real issue (which, I think, was a debate about infinitives) and hoisting you by your own petard. I'm just too nice to do that.
Actually, I appreciate the grammatical guidance--reminds me of my days going round and round with Mr. Hazel about thesis and sources, etc. There are few people who can send me running to my dictionary. Your knowledge is quite impressive, if not, at times, hypocritical in its dissemination.
I must admit that my attention to the rule and law of language is often weak, especially on the net...I don't usually have someone who calls me on my transgressions.
But my writing style (the fiction, mainly) is unorthodox and all my own. I'm not writing for television, which, I have noticed, accepts only the highest standard of product.
Horse...I would write if I could find a decent job that called for writing. Gotta pay the bills.

Sneak pay no attention to Finbar, as anyone with a recent education knows, the grammar rule book was thrown out about 30 years ago. As I'm sure finbar knows, the only rule now is useage, which makes pretty much any grammatical construction okay as long as its intelligible.
Now back to the game Hydey and I had a good session last night. Sans finbar, the Aztecs immediately attacked the Horse empire but apart from a couple of slaps, the horse force concentrated on destroying the Russians, who are now down to one city and have sent that grovelling "please don't destroy us" message after centuries of insults. Its 1800 ad.

Well, indeed. Thus hastening the decline of civilisation as we know it.

Alas, the Aztecs bit the dust in this session, and the Persians followed them shortly afterwards into the dustbin of history. Railroads are allowing the Horse Force to move rapidly around the map but Ayatollah Horse is getting RSI. The Aztecs have adapted particularly quickly to Horslamic culture.

Isn't it funny how keen you are to play this game you are winning, ( have won) as no-one seems willing to play the games I do well in

Hydey, I'm happy to play in the games where you are winning, even if it means I get conquered. I just like to play. I find the game has interesting challenges no matter what your situation. I don't understand people who only want to play when they are winning.

Finbar and I started a simult game with 4 civs last night. Less civs seems to really crank up the barb activity.

I have always wondered if the most poorly defended or smallest civs are the ones first hounded and then continuously attacked throughout the game?
<img src=/forums/"/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>
I think its the opposite - barbs concentrate on the top civ, which is me.
I lost a city but I am getting heaps of cash, nearly 800 in the kitty in spite of liberal spending.
