Drone Broadcasting Network (DBN) reports that Drone Centrol Command continues its vigilance noting the recent spat of diplomatic meetings between the Hive and Pirates. On the condition of remaining anonomous, low-level State Department officials stated "we can and will prevail against the Green Weinees. We hope that outside forces recognize the situation for what it is, a Gaian plan to annex Drone territory. Nothing more and nothing less."

DBN newscaster summarizes Foreman's speech before the nation tonight stating: "Foreman laid out before the nation a great resolve to maintain national security in the face of hostile aggressive being leveled at it by the Gaians and supported by its allies. In a very moving speech, Foreman assured the nation that it needed to protect itself from those who would otherwise deny the Drone citizens their freedom to be secured. Foreman stated that he had not precluded and was open to a negotiated peace but needed assurances from other powers for a long term and lasting peace."

Meanwhile, defense official note that intelligence sources are maintaining a cautious and vigilant review of the situation.

"Public opinion polls have Foreman approval rating near 92% boostering his repeated calls for defense of the nation. However, Foreman continues to warn of threats from outside forces."

"In a move seen as alittle too late and a veiled move to insulate itself, Pirate Leader Northswordman sent word at the time of the Gaian defeat that he was going to distance itself from the Gaians and no longer Pact with them."

Pirate senior administration officals concede today to NNN that they have given up all hope of a peaceful resolution to this war, stating that the Drones are not willing to cease fire and attempt diplomatic resolution to what is being called the "Pearl Harbor" war, so named for the unprovoked attack on the Pirates by the Drones.

Captain Northswordsman noted that the Pirates did not attact the Drones, but were attacked as the result of the conflict between the Drones and the Gaians. The Pirates have broken off diplomatic relations with the Gaians, and made that fact aware to the treacherous foreman Radman, to little effect. Captain Northswordsman issued a statement as follows:

"Citizens of Planet, you are undoubtely aware of this unprovoked war of the Drones against the Pirates. The history of this war is well-known: that we were attacked without provocation because of our diplomatic relations with the Gaians, and not any actions by the Pirates. We have never wished ill-will toward the Drones. We have subsequently dissolved our pact with the Gaians, and made this fact known to the Foreman of the drones, who has not responded to that declaration. We have requested assistance from Prophet Skanderbeg, who has not replied to our request.

We are therefore dissolving our relationship with Prophet Skanderbeg, and declaring him "persona non-gratia", and have recalled our Ambassadors to the Cult. We ask Planet's citizens to intercede with the foreman for a resolution to this war of aggression, a war much like that of ancient Earth during the 1940's caused by an aggressive nation who shares much of the same philosophy as the Drones have demonstrated.

Reporters jammed into the State Department press room waiting for Secretary of State Stone to enter and field questions following Foreman's diplomatic response to the Pirates.

Upon entering, Secretary Stone gives a brief update on the situations and then states "I'll like to open this up to a few questions now." A reporter for Freedom Foundry's Free Press asks "Mr. Secretary, would you comment on Captain Northswordsman claim they were attacked without provocation." Secretary Stone quickly responded "That statement is entirely and ulterly false. In protecting our nation from the Gaian onslaught about to enter Drone territory, the Pirates unilaterially declared war upon the Drone nation after we bloodied the noses of the Gaians to protect ourselves. In no way, shape or form did we have the intent of hostilities against the Pirates until they declared unilaterial vendetta on us."

The DBN capital correspondent Joe Blow asked "Mr. Secretary, what about the statement on the unprovoked attack and the Pirates statement of being 'Pearl Harbored'?" "I'm glad you asked that question Joe. First, the statement is entirely correct except we were the victims as they declare vendetta on the Drone nation without any provocation. We declared war on them only after they declare vendetta on us and would not or could not call off the war dogs, the Gaians."

"Second, in regards to his reference to history of Earth in the early 1940's, the only applicable analogy that can be truely drawn, is that the Pirates in their vendetta against us indeed 'awoke a sleeping giant' when they declared war on the Drone nation." "One more question, then I must go."

Quickly, a reporter from Domei's Drone Daily interjected "Based on the statement by the Pirates, they indicate they broke off relations with the Gaians. What prompted the Pirates to at this point brake off relations with the Gaians?" The Secretary carefully choosing his words "Well, its like this, when the party's over you go home. What I mean by this, with the imminent closure of the "Green Weinee War", the Pirates evidently realized the party was nearly over. Finally, we have been keeping a careful eye on the Pirates once it became clear they were ready and preparing to use 'Dry Dock' as a base for infiltration. We continue to examine intelligence reports on secret technology transfer to the Pirates. Sueing for peace while obtaining military technology is inherently at odds with itself."

At that, Secretary Stone left followed by his group of secret service agents.

An excerpt from a letter from Lt. J.G. Smith ...

"Hi all:

Thought I would write and see how everyone is doing. Our ship is presently near xxxxxxxx (censored) continuing our mission. I know that you've probably already heard about this event in the news, but while on pickett duty last night near the Pirate base, our ship was suddenly enveloped in a brilliant light and then suddenly jolted with a thundering crashed of concussion air. The concussion was so great I awoke the next day after being knocked out by the blast.

When I awoke, the scene was horrible, with (censored) everywhere from what was left of the former Pirate cities. How could the Pirates commit such atrocities against their own people by blowing up their own cities!! I for one, agree with Foreman that leaders of the Pirates and those who support the Pirates need to be captured and charged with crimes against humanity! Luckily, our admiralty had picketted our ships far enough away to prevent any serious injuries to us."

Hopefully, I am intepreting your note's attitude as being part of your character's within the game. If not, so be it. Such is life regarding the game. If the bug happens, it happens. The only real loser would those who can't prefer to bring down others because of their own faults.

In regards to pinning it on you, this is like a drunk asking a bartender to cut him off after 20 shots. Buck up, it's only game for pete's sake.

Drone State Department

A conciliatory note through diplomatic channels has been forwarded to Chairman Flubber of the Hive regarding the recent infiltration incident(s) in order to maintain and preserve the peace between the nations.

At approximately 0900 hrs, a Drone air reconnaissance unit discovered Hive probe unit(s) preparing to load into an Isle of the Deep just twenty kilometers [2 squares] from the main coast of the Drone nation. After surveillance, Defense officials ordered the unit to be pacified. This action was taken only after careful consideration of the recently foiled attempt to break-in at one of the nation's national labs at Steelfount by unknown parties (investigation still on-going).

This action combined with; (1) acknowledging past technology transfers to active enemies of the Drone nation; (2) the on-going investigations regarding an attempted break-in at government labs at Steelfount, was unfortunately seen as a potential hostile act towards the Drone nation.

Secretary Pillar would like to emphasize that this military action was very limited in scope and nature as the Drone nation had other military assets to bring to bear in the immediate area if the Drone nation had other intentions.

Accordingly, a truce has been requested to cool down the situation pending future discussions.

Is this the same drone nation that has landed several probes directly on our lands and tried to sneak them deep into our territory. When we caught them,we returned them unharmed"
