Well we got the game under way. Turns out my great luck has continued yet again. I picked egypt and it turns out their landmass can't hold more then 13 cities. This means i am being forced to use my super growth strat to the max, so far its worked as i have gotten oracle and collosus and a fairly decent tech rate.

yup, he was posting on the gameleague forum when we were supposed to play, but he was wasn't on icq or zone messanger. Oh well it makes it better for us now as we can play next week. I think the game will be over by march 12th. In 100 min of playing we got to 100 bc.

Yes....this should certainly be an interesting game. Markus is doing his patented Super growth strategy and Im doing my favorite Mikes/Pyramid modified growth strategy while War4ever appears to be ICSing( he has the most cities by far). The results of this game should be good material for the Civ 2 Strategy section. But where is Eyes.....??????????????

in only about 2 hours (even less) you got so far? must have been a simul game.

Well, I don't know what to call my "strategy", I guess it should be called, "go for Oracle and lose it to Markus at the last moment, switch over to MC and watch Napolean get it, so build GL!" But I can't complain too much, I'm in the running and have land...
Btw, am I the only one in this without a strategy? I don't know what you guys are talking about

I'm really interested. What is this Markus's patented Super Growth Stratgy? Where can I find any details about it? I got the previous saves of this game, but did not looked at it yet. Just make a guess: trade route between cities + WLOC days? Still like to see some details. I just found that you get extra benefit when doing trade early in the game, which should not be a surprise, but never tried to do it before.
