You may or may not know, but there is a hosted site within Apolyton for League play of Civ II.
In this League setting is a thing called "Tribes".
Teams of players that compete in a hierarchy.
For instance, I currently am in a Tribe of 7 members, called
Tuatha De Danann. The name is taken from the "mythical" start of the Irish.
Besides myself, the Danann consists of Boann, Berzerker,Khanman,
General Maximus,Darflex, and Godsfriend.
There are a lot of good Civ players here that would be more than welcome to check out this aspect of Civ.
There are a lot of positive aspects about it.
You can ask questions of the Moderator (Dangime),any of the
Tuatha De Danann Members, or other Civ players you may recognize.

We've turned away people wanting to become a member of the Tribe.
Need to add more active Tribes, not more people in active Tribes.

Europa is another Tribe. Their members are all Europeans.
It doesn't have to be that way, it's just the format they followed.
Your Tribe members can have everything in common, or little in common.
The important thing is to have a membership that gets along well together.
You learn different approaches to the game, see different styles of play, and expand your Civ knowledge in general.

Your agenda is just,... somebody else, please.
Sayen (gone), Civ Fanatics (fine people, fine board), Civ III (ditto).
It's entirely possible to frequent more than one place.
People in 2,3 bowling Leagues. Different alleys.
I have been know to eat at more than 1 restraunt. 
I don't know what you want, Prophet.
Everything has been tried to make you content.
We still need new Tribes at Apolyton.
Some that are serious about making it better, not just slamming.
