I am SO getting toasted, but Ming, STOPS SCREWIN WITH THE HOTW CREW MAN, what you did to Chris was too freakin harsh for a first offense.

Deity, Drake, Sun, East, Prometheus back me and Chris up on this one!

For a first time offender cutting Chris's log on was pretty lame of you man, or even threatening it, he was just like ****ed up on some **** or something, god man.

Weren't you ever in college?

Yes, unless Chris said something offensive to someone out of that thread, there was definetly no reason for him to be banned. There is nothing in the thread that warrants a banning. The thread should have been moved to the OT, with a warning or something.

People do much worse things in the OT every day (spam threads/in-appropriate), and they don't get banned.

While I wouldn't have said it in the way good ol' capo did, I do think some lines have been crossed.

We're talking about someone who only posts in the mp thread. He's not a spammer like the boys down in the ot, so lets cut him some slack ming. Do the right thing.

First... you should put this stuff in the Apolyton forum where it belongs.
And second, we take spamming in the On Topic Forums very seriously.

Plus, all he has to do is email me or PM so I can talk to him about his offense so that I know he won't do it in the future... Again, we don't tolerate that kind of crap On Topic.

Last, your "interesting" title of this thread was a sure fire way to make sure I wouldn't take your opinion on this subject very seriously
I would have expected better from you.

What was so offensive about the thread anyways Ming, besides the fact it has nothing to do with mp civ? And does posting a thread in an in-appropriate place grounds for banning? Is it standard procedure?

After reading this, I immediately got nosey and checked out the thread.

From my reading, Ming just forced him to have a conversation with him, So he could explain how inappropriate it was. It didn't read like a 2 week ban or anything. Now if he refused to discuss it, I assume then it will be.

It wasn't offensive, it just wasn't appropriate. Exceptable in the OTF but not on topic. The OTF was put into place to keep this kind of thing away from the serious (and not so serious) discussions of the game.

As I said, the punishment fits the crime... if he is willing to discuss it, he could be posting again in a matter of minutes... His choice.

Unfortunately, I can't access my Apolyton account from the office... but he did the right thing by sending me a PM that told me to look at my email. Since he made the effort to respond (which is what I was looking for), I've unrestricted his account, and will continue the conversation with him via email or PM.

No need to be sorry... frankly, I don't care what they think. I have a job to do, and that's what I do. If people don't like it, or me... that's their problem, not mine. I'm not here to win a popularity contest... I'm here on behalf of the owners of this site to enforce "their" rules. If you don't abide by those rules... again, your problem, not mine.

A lot of things are "OK" on the OTF that aren't exceptable in the on topic forums. That's why the OTF exists

And since I see that GNGSpam has responded, this thread has now served it's purpose.

In the future, if you have complaints about the moderation, please direct them to the owners (or directly to me) via email or pm, or you can post them in the Apolyton Community Forum with the rest of the complaints
