I've noticed that the discovery of green attractors makes the dreadnought obsolete, but doesn't give anything in change. Is this intentional? Of course, getting rid of this obsolescence is far too simple...
Furthermore, I've found another pair of similar cases, but they don't come in my mind now.

yo, mirko, da smokes got da answer. it's intentional. of course it is dreads are powerful, so the designers mustv'e decided to get rid of them ( some of the later units are mildly psychotic in power anyway) easy way around it (sans cheat) build a whole hell of a lot if you like them. then you've got enough to last till the end of the game. hope i halped clear things up for ya.

That's ok. Making up my mind, I dread that allowing the construction of both the ships, the AI shouldn't even spot the possibility of building the AENEAC - Dr. and AE. has the same role, but AE. has less attack/defense factors than Dr.
What do you think about the evolution from Iron Maiden to HohMann? In this case, we acquire some abilities and lose others (notably, the Pikemen ability, best for defensive units). Moreover, the I.M. and the H. have two opposite roles: wouldn't it be better allowing the construction of both?
