Greetings neighbours with pale faces and dark blue, green and yellow clothings!
It is with sincere respect that the Sioux nation hails the other folks' leaders. However, the Great Leader of the Sioux is troubled in his heart. For it seems that the world is getting smaller and, accordingly, the tone of voice of the other folks' leaders graver. It seems that the times are darkening...
In consequence, the Sioux regrettfully has to report that a Viking diplo is amiss in our land. It is well known that the land is wild and that losing one's track is easy. Hence we hope that, for their own safety, Viking (and other tribes') diplos stay off the Sioux mainland in the future... We hope that the kin and family left behind of the strolling diplo, do not suffer too hard times for his unfortunate disappearance. The land is truly wild and even the most experienced Sioux scouts wander with respect when the mists of the Lost Rivers, and the clouds of the Lone Mountains, cover parts of it. Speak no more of this ugly business! However, let it be known that we do not consider establishing an embassy an act of war. But we would prefer if such business (if not already a fact) is conducted straight from the Viking longships (or from other tribes' ships). This is, of course, only out of concern for the diplomats carrying out their difficult tasks. Do not add the burden of danger upon their already heavily ladden shoulders.
The Sioux people is busy uncovering the secrets of the world that The Great One once hid in nature. We wish nothing else but to continue our pursuit of wisdom, left alone and minding our own business. Let us all respect the Light of Wisdom and be guided by it. We urge you all (Blue, Green and Yellow), to resist the temptations of the Dark Lord. His only desire is to spread violence and death across this beautiful world. No good will come out of acts of terror. We must stand together to keep darkness at bay! May the Blue, Green and Yellow Folks continue to prosper in peace. And keep armed units and information seeking diplomats off the shores of our home land!
The hour is late and many deeds await my attention. I bid the venerable leaders of the other folks farewell with an open mind and an equally open palm.

Only just seen the thread ....

To Sitting Punk, Supreme Chief, The Sioux Nation, greetings, brother.
Here in LiverCrusty your news of agents for the Viking Corps Diplomatique being sighted on Sovereign Sioux soil was greeted with shock and disbelief. Although we had hoped that much desired trade goods from our fine country would shortly be arriving in your magnificent nation and had pondered as to the acceptability to yourself of a Viking Explorer so as to best route our noble caravans, we must assure you that we had neither authorised nor envisioned that one of our Diplomats would step so far outwith protocol. Under our own just and humane legal system, such an entrepreneur would be invited to call upon the Gods to bless the mighty longship that used his or her living body as lubricant for its launch. We are sure that an enlightened Nation such as your own will have similar laws in place and can only beg clemency on behalf of the hapless miscreant's family of three wives, fourteen children and twelve concubines, whilst accepting that any action you may take will be fully justified both by law and natural justice.
Your humble servant, Harald Haraldsen, scribe to the Troika, Dzerzhinsky Square, LiverCrusty
