i was talking to rah about last nite game. 5 people in game, 4 were on icq phone and we had no drops or disruptions in game. icq phone was stable. so was the game for a change. maybe a fluke but i have a good feeling about this. no bandwidth problems were experienced

Yes, last night was a good test to see if multiple calls would cause problems during the game. Not one drop out during the whole game. That is a rare event without using ICQ phone.

And yes, those FREE 6 hour phone calls to Canada are great.

no, if you try to call someone else, it disconnects your current call.
but it may be worth reading up on it. That would really make a MP game even better.

My wife added some extra memory to my machine yesterday. When I went to use ICQ phone for a duel with War4ever, it's back to the way it was. I can't hear. I did try to go through the setup wizard, but had no luck.

dabarono, if you are free one evening this week, if you could give me a hand again...

Ya, the Mac version of ICQ doesn't have the phone option. Mac ICQ is actually a couple of old jam tins and a piece of string. I've got the microphone and speakers, just not the essential bit.

I would like to try this out and have a port mic/headset as well as UBB or whatever its called ports...

it sometimes has delays because it is bandwidth sensitive i have been told. dailup ip's in US are restricted up to 53k. no more. that may explain any lag. the wider the bandwidth the better.
thou dailup connections do work they are not stable. supersneak as to instuctions on how to set it up. hydey can walk u through it. or send me a message about what time you are available. remember where i am at i am 16 hrs behind melbourne. i.e. at noon saturday in melboure it is friday night at 8 in california where i am at.

oh finbar most mac users i know are junking those things because software is expensive and not very pleniful. even thou there proccessors are extremely fast, unless you are doing graphics they make better paperweights than personal computers and steve jobs makes a better snake oil salesman than bill gates though that is not saying much for either one of them

ok, I'll give it a try.

open icq,

select any user and left click

select icqphone option

select launch icqphone client

The mock phone will come up.

select menu

select setup wizard

follow all test instruction.

If you can hear the test, and hear back on the mic test, it should work.

The most important thing is to make sure your mic is plugged in to the right place and your volume settings are high enough.

Once this works, just point at a user that has the headset icon next to their name (left click) and initiate a pc to pc call.

It was strange Yesterday, playing in one game and talking to Barono who was in another game. it was like playing 2 games at once .
