Hi
I wrote the applescript - unless there are more out there.
I am interested in why, when it crashes. I have had it crash, but only when I dropped loads of scenarios on it.
Yes, it does not convert the pictures, because Greaphicconverter does not support applescript - despite what the release notes say - , and what few graphics programs I could find that do have applescript support, do not convert the gifs correctly.
>I think that it would be better if there were 2 or 3 apple scripts
It is open-source, open it in the script editor and you can in fact split it along those lines, if you please. It can also be run from the script editor. That way it might be possible to find where it crashes.
Perhaps it just needs to be opened and saved on your system to work, Apple made some changes in the way applescript works between different system versions.
>Can anyone make the applescript work regularly?
I have converted 50+ scenarios using it.
> Does anyone know a better way to convert?
Better? Well, there is plugin for a type-converter somewhere. Should be on the Mac page.

>"All sound files could not be converted", or something like that. Is their any ideas about what could cause this?
Soundapp could not convert some file. You can check which one by matching .wav to .aiff files and see which one(s) are missing. Try opening the offending .wav file and you will probably find it will not work.
I also thing that if soundapp converts 10 sound files and there is something wrong with file number 3, no files past number 3 will be converted. Not sure about this.

I am currently working on an update of the script, since Graphicconverter is now scriptable and can convert PC .gifs and .bmps to PICTs, that works for Civ 2. Whee!
Quicktime player is also scriptable, but it's resulting files are not usable for Civ 2 .
Here is how converting the sounds work. The script tells soundapp to convert the wav files. It then checks for the existence of these aiff files, for verification only. Chances are, if a sound file takes soundapp some time to complete, it will not be there when the script checks for it existence. If so then just ignore the message.
I will look into it as I test the new script.

Thanks. My main problem is that, after I get that error, it stops, and the sound files are not placed in a sound folder. Also, at least 50% of the sound files are not translated. Please keep us updated about the progress of the update, and thanks for creating the app in the first place.
