Nevertheless, I for myself didn't ever get any contact with australian humor, but if you mean AUSTRIAN humor, then you could be right...

Gee, SlowHand, on behalf of the other lunatics in the asylum, may I say how touched we are by your tribute?
There's a very old, very famous Oz cartoon. Man #1 is hanging by his fingernails, high above the ground, from a girder on a construction site. Man #2, in turn, is hanging from Man #1's feet. In the process of clinging on, Man #2 has pulled Man #1's trousers down to his ankles. Man #2 is looking up - at Man #1's wedding tackle - and is pissing himself laughing.
Man #1 is looking down at Man #2 and exclaiming: "For Gawd's sake, stop laughing! This is serious!".
That about sums it up.
