	Mac to PC to Mac is working for me Enter the AD-FREE zone

Some time ago, Ashman was kind enough to respond to a post I made here asking whether Mac and PC users could play together. He said they could with a file typer, and offered to send me one, and I took him up on it.

It's been a while, but I finally got my shiny new G4, and sure enough, the file typer allows me to continue the PBEM games I was already playing on my PC on my new Mac. Many thanks, Ash.

Now, I noticed a while ago that people were still having problems making this work, so if anyone needs them, I can send the exchange settings that worked for me. And I should mention that I'm runnung OS9, in case that makes a difference.

If a lot of people want the file typer, I wonder if Apolyton could have a download site. what do you think, Baston?

BTW, the game looks sooooo much better on my Mac than it did on my little PC laptop!!

Many thanks Rick... I might... just downloaded it from another thread, but I'm looking forward to jumping into the fray... any bugs or other things I should watch for when using it? (such as proper file extensions, etc.)

Is there any place where this new version can be downloaded from? (If not and the creator is looking for it, I have plenty of space to spare) What exactly is changed in the update? If possible, I'd like to make a CtP news item about this but I need more info...

You can e-mail the creator at: dragonfly@networkinsight.net and ask him... he responds quickly, but I don't have any more information than the updated version works great!

In the update you can now drag & drop multiple save files onto the program and they'll all be transmogrified at the same time (before you had to do them one at a time.)
Also there was a strange zero-out bug that took the file (say 235k) and when it transmogrified it the file was 0k.

I think those were the only two changes, though it'd be wise to e-mail the creator to be sure.

So... how does a Mac user play an online game with a Windows user? I've been trying to get into the lobby of the Ctp Multiplayer thread by just downloading the server file yet it seems that doesn't work because it doesn't let me in.
