	Dutcheese PBeM game 3 Increase the size of your Attachments

This is the new topic for the third dutcheese game i am starting, even if you are playing now in another game and you want to play more please register:

Peace is sought by the Bastonian tribal leaders of the fledgling French civilisation, although because we are an island we will deter any unauthorised landings with force unless you have obtained express permission from the current Monarchs.

A diplomatic voyage will be undertaken soon to see who else is out there.

So that I don't slow down the game when it gets to me, could one of you quickly explain what to do with it?

Also, I think I have the Ducheese pack correctly installed: I replaced the three files that it said to and then put the entire folder from the stuffit archive into the top layer of the Civ:CTP folder. Does this sound right?

Finnaly, who will I be sending my turn to?

Turn -1 ---->KingSheba

The Turkish tribe finds itself mired in quicksand. They call the place dutcheese.
They put three files indicated (messageicon.text, Units.text, and uniticon.text) into gamedata folder. However, error messages were received and game failed when starting up from file sent to me by Baston. I am passing the file to KingSheba.
Any help will meet with great rejoicing.

Ok, let me a give detailed set of instructions on how to get dutcheese installed and working.

First, inorder to make restoring CTP back to it's original status a lot easier I recommend that you label the dutcheese files with a bright color. I labeled mine red. (using File-->Label)

Now move messageicon.txt, uniticon.txt and Units.txt into the following directory;
ctp_data-->default-->gamedata

Click yes to replace the original files with the dutcheese ones.

Next, move gamemc01.txt, premc01.txt, and varimc01.txt in to the following directory:
ctp_data-->default-->gamedata-->gl

Next, move mcCAMC01.tga and mcCBB002.tga into the following directory:
ctp_data-->default-->graphics-->pictures

And finally, move dutcheese.txt and Strings.txt into the following directory:
ctp_data-->english-->gamedata

Click yes to replace the original files with the dutcheese ones.

Now you're all set.

You need to hang onto your turn until you get dutcheese installed and working. You'll need to be sure and play your turn before you pass it along. Otherwise, Kingsheba will end up with your turn and won't be able to play his. Goodluck!

Rue, is the latest game that you sent (around 22:57 saturday) the one that I should play? I have only recieved one game from you as of yet and I think that it is the messed up one...

Sorry for the delay! When I open the E-mail game sent to me (the new and correct one) by double clicking on it (which should work using version 1.2b after rebuilding the desktop) but the game unexpectedly quits because "an error type 11 occured." I am looking into it and think that I have the dutcheesse pack installed correctly but the dirrections provided are horrible and it is still confusing with Rue's clarification. Are there other steps. Where do the rest of the files in the folder go?

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I suggest that you reinstall CTP and the dutcheese mod. Something may have been corrupted the first time around. The only other files that I didn't mention in my instructions were the scenarios. You can throw those into your scenario folder if you like. They're not necessary as far as I know. At any rate, goodluck!

Regarding dutcheese, I copied and printed Ash's instructions which are located in this strand. I followed them exactly and things worked as they were supposed to.

Hi Guys! I needed to load CTP on my new iMac anyway so it wasn't so much of a pain doing it. Better yet, dutcheese worked!

4000 BC GERMAN TRIBES UNITE UNDER TRIBAL COUNSEL

The various Germanic tribes of the Angles, Jutes, and Saxons as well as a number of smaller tribes were united under a tribal counsel consisting of the leaders of all these separate people. The tribes control an area spanning two land masses, one an arctic island contaning the majority of the tribal city states and the second a continant of unexplored size.
The great riches in Perals that the tribes collectivly controls, the main incentive of the unification) will be spread throughout the empire for mutual benefit of all the tribes.
Explorers will be sent out to establish peacfull relations with any forign peoples encountered. The German tribes wish to expand but through diplomatic agreement and not through war.

This year french diplomats and ships began charting the northern tip of the continent immediatelky south of france.

It seems that this continent is populated and diplomats hope to set up formal relations with the inhabitants.

GERMANIC TRIBES LAY CLAIM TO "ISLE OF KINGS"

A small island (the "Isle of Kings") just North-East of Berlin was explored and claimed by German explorers, expanding German holdings to include three separate land masses. Colonization plans are being made and trade will soon be established. Landings on any of these islands or naval travel in the "Sea of Sheba" (the water inside the triangle created by these three islands) is strictly prohibited and will be met with force (except in the case of unescorted diplomats with prior permission). The German tribes are, however, open to diplomatic negotiation and wish for peacful resolutions to any territorial conflicts in the nations early development.
Elsewhere, German explorers landed on what is beleaved to be a fourth continant and will soon begin exploration.
Finnaly, a strong leader among the tribes is slowly collecting his power and may soon attempt to overpower the other lords and establish a hereditory monarchy.

FRENCH OPPOSITION TO GERMAN EXPANSION BEGINS

Claims to several land masses seem excessive to the already restricted contnent of france. In order to grow french settlers will venture to wherever they have to venture.

Just because you explore a continent is irrelevant, if you have already settled it then that is different...

French officials laughed off German claims and called for other nations to ensure land is fairly distributed if competition begins.
