Some Questions Get a bigger avatar today!

The following are some questions from one who just recently got hooked on Civ2. Thanks in advance for your answers.

1) Will CTP2 have national borders?
2) How will the national borders work?
3) What are the anticipated system requirements for CTP2?
4) What are the anticipated major differences between CIV3 and CTP2?
5) Which one is anticipated to be the better product?
6) Which would be recommended for someone who loves CIV2?
7) Can one play CIV2 or CTP2 multi-player games successfully with a 56K modem?

Thanks again and I look forward checking out this site on a regular basis.

Increase Your PM Length

I can respont to the first two questions:

1) Yes, there will be borders, and they will be visible unlike in CtP. If you cross the border into foreign territory, your opponent may complain.

But he also will most likely respect your borders. Other than in CtP or Civ2, you now can see where you can go with your units without offending your enemies up front.

2) How to manage... well, whenever you build a city you gain land, and the city mayor will assign workers on the land. It won't be a predefined area like in Civ2 (or CtP for that) but it depends on your choice of concentration in the city. (gold, science, ...)

Look at Alpha Centauri, and you will get a very good idea about the borders.

Asking what product would be better: Civ3 or CtP2, well, I don't know. What I do know is that Civ3 won't be ready for at least a year, while CtP2 will be released very shortly (if they don't delay it!)

Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

3) As CtP I guess (since the engine is the same) but anyone who knows CtP would advise you to get a real fast PC with lots of RAM.
It rans fine on my Athlon 800 with 128Megs of RAM.
4) Too much to explain search back some older posts to see the differences
5) blahblahlbah
6) Thats up to you to decide. But keep in mind: CtP2 will probably arrive Q1 next year (I dont think anymore that they make it till December) and Civ3 will probably arrive late 2001 so...
7) yeah I think 56k should be fine. Hey this is no shooter! It should even work with an 28.8k!

So much for your questions
