Heck, I've beaten the 1903 mark quite a number of times. Nothing to it. Easy.
Oh wait, you said 1803, not 1903!
Excellent job as always, Paul!

If you can not think of a good reason to build something other than a caravan, build a caravan!

I tried OCC this afternoon. Just played till 1AD to make myself comfortable with it. I played a total of about 10 games. In one of them I was pretty good. It was a large land mass, and I did not build my city till 900BC. By that time I had two allies (I could pass through their territory without any difficulty), 650 golds (300 tribute before offering peace), 12 free units (horse, archer, legion), 15 techs including mapmaking, pottery, monarchy, bridge building, trade. (I don't remember quite clearly the exact numbers, but that's about the situation). Maybe this one can beat Paul's record.

I think thatīs too late for a new record. At 900BC you should already have finished colossus and some improvements. At 1AD I use to have copernicus already. At around 500AD you city should be developed that much, that you discover each second turn. Try getting automobiles before 1000AD.
If you found your city too late you simply will run out of turns
IMHO
Paul, Iīm not sure anymore, but didnīt you mention somewhere you once reached AC in the 1770īs?
