Program Crashes when loading saved game Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I'm no programmer, so I'll just describe what's happening...

I'd had some previous odd "crashes" that seemed unexplainable. I'd , the year would nearly trip over, and then the whole program would crash - sending me back to my desktop.

Then, after rescuing many games with the autosave option, I'd taken to saving (routinely) about every 5-10 years, just to be safe.

So, here I am, cranking along at 2101AD. I've got my gaia sats going up, I'm building controllers and obelisks... blah blah blah. I save, run an errand, come back...

...and every time I try to trip to the next year (2111AD), the program crashes. I even tried reloading some previous versions (AUTOSAVE, 2101, 2095, etc.) No luck.

SO, I installed the patch v.1.11 and reloaded CPT2 (like a good boy).

That didn't do a thing. It continues to crash. What am I doing wrong?

Besides this very frustrating aspect of the game - it's wonderful! Great graphics, far more complex and engaging than prevoius CIV games, etc. I just wish I could play it through to the end!

Could someone please advice a non-techno-geek!

Thanks!

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

sorry. i wish i could help you but the same thing is happening to me. I am on turn 274 and had to exit to do some stuff in the real world and then came back to play C2P and couldnt reload cause it would crash every time I was about to start to play. I am not shure if activision did any QA on this product, or we are doing it for them so they will have Call to Power 3 done right.

Call to Power 3 will probably be out before Civ 3 so I guess it will be done rushed and we will have all the same or different problems then.

At least when Civ 2 came out it was done right and not for the buck.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

You did know that you can't use save games from before the patch after the patch, right ?

Better News!

Yes - my previous game (without the patch) could never be opened. Oh well.

But - with the patch - I was able to save and open files through to the end of the game... which resulted in the Sci Fi Victory!

So, at least on this one game, the save function appears to be fine - provided you START with a patched game and END with a patched game.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks.
