Did you recieve your turn? I haven't received the latest one yet. No rush, just eager to continue with negotiations, and establish my foothold on this baren rock!

Have you tried the fix for the SMAX PC-to-Mac PBEM problem? Does it work?

about the PC vs. Mac problem: as stated in the other thread, Brad Oliver (the guy who ported SMAC/X) is working on it, and he has a working version of the SMAX application. This app will read/write the correct save game format, but is not compatible with the current mac format. I would suggest sending an email to bradman@pobox.com and ask for the "beta"...

What a barren planet we have landed on! I think we should all consider helping each other out a bit as we struggle to get a toe-hold here. I propose that we all pool our excess credits and then put it to good use for the common good. I seem to be the logical one to hold them in the meantime, since I am most centrally located, so if everyone can just send their checks payable to Captain Flomper's Relief Services...

The suckage factor of this barren rock is quite high! Flomper, if I could spare the 'change' I send you some, but at the Hive we are currently scrouging around for an energy source...ANY energy source.

Has anyone noticed that this 'lovely planet' is prodominately a 'water world.' That doesn't bode well on many levels.

KJ: No. The Pirates are not prepared to "buy" a treaty with you. We are willing to normalize relations, but at this point if you want the comm frequency you will have to show that you intend to treat us as equals. How about offering your map?

Flomp; Sorry about that. I'm was unsure how to get the MP negotiations to work in the game. I only wanted a treaty, nothing more, and couldn't figure out how to indicate that in the negotiations transmission dialogue box. If your open to this (i.e. treaty only) great. If not...well I've got nothing else to offer, except my tech, which I'll hang on to for now...

Well, folks it looks like things will slow down here for a couple of weeks, 'cuz after Q gets back I'm heading off to las Vegas to be at my sister's wedding. (!)

Flomp; I hope I didn't just void our treaty. I'm still new to the MP transmissions. I recieved another transmission from 'Captain Flomper' that had the same request as previously—a treaty plus a comlink frequency. I declined as I knew I had nothing to deal with and I wasn't sure you would agree to just a treaty (until after I came to post)...yadda yadda. Did the Hive screw it up?

If so the Hive humbly apologizes for the misunderstanding. The drones responsible have been terminated. We await your response Captain Flomper, of the illustrious Pirates.

Scouts have yet to make contact with any of the other surviving factions. If it were not for the frequent Comm traffic we intercept, I would believe our humble faction was alone on this desolate rock.

Atleast we will soon change that fact. Our first terraformer went into production today.

Sorry everyone, but my computer crashed during my turn. Now when I try to finish the turn it says I've already played the turn and it will alert the other players that the game has been tampered with. So I'm getting illiria to resend the turn, so there will be a slight delay. Sorry
