State of the Demo Full PM-box? Change here!

Hi gang!

Any thoughts on the possibilities of putting together the first of your demos? ISTM that you may already have enough material in various places to throw together a single comprehensive program that will eventually grow into the finished game

You have first editions of the economy model, the disease model, and the map model (others?). All ya need to do is combine them, and throw together a simple UI, and there you go, Demo 1!

The reason I ask is that it is difficult to follow all the different models you have going in all the seperate places. While I'd like to keep track on the progress of things, I just don't have the time to read through all your postings and hunt down all the different model demos. If there was one definitive place where integrated models could be put together, it would make it much easier on people like me

Hope coding is going well.

Ron

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Hi Ron,

glad that you take time to see how we go. I also download a few MD demos here and there, kind of civ professional deformation, eh
( the last one did not switch back from 800x600 mode, fix it )

As to the question about integrating our model prototyping into one demo, I think I can answer a no to that. We are currently developing a few things simultaneously, and each of us does it in our spare time. If we had a demo in process, it would mean we have to use CVS system, and that would only block our work. That is my view, anyway.

We are making demo .1 (as we call that), that means that we are making seperate demos right now in order not to be dependant on the others progress. When all the demo's are finished, we put them together as demo 1, but the demos are not ready yet...

Okay, well, I tried

I'll leave it to you guys to do what you think is best, and I'll follow along as well as I can when I can find the time away from coding.

Perhaps when a model demo undergoes a upgrade, or a new model demo is released, there could be a single thread here on your board to announce such things? I think the problem I have is that model demos are generally announced in the middle of three page model design threads, and I usually don't see them. Anyway, up to you guys, ignore me if you want

(Vet: I hope that wasn't a recent download. I think the resolution switching problems were all sorted out a while ago.)

Well, if our UI work proceeds as well as it is proceeding now, we could have a demo in a month or two... but what kind, I can't say. Anyway, we are not making a demo just to have a demo, it has to do something reasonable. But UI would be the first major step, and as said, that is going along well. But nice that you are interested in our work, Ron!
