I'm currently playing France. First moves have just came out. I'm currently working with Germany and Russia (played by another Finn) to attack England. England currently has fleet in English Channel - I'm planning to try to entice him to go to Brest, bump him with my army currently in Picardy, take Iberian centers with my fleet in MAO and army currently in Spa, build fleets in Mar and Bre and then proceed to whomp English ass - Russia is ready to bump him at Norway, so if all goes correctly, he should have no builds next turn. Italy's not going to attack me just now, I think, and rest are too far away to make a difference.

A good alternate strategy would be to have a self stand-off in Bre (ie order Mao-Bre and Pic-Bre) what whay you know you'll be able to build a fleet in Bre. And the iberian SCs aren't going anywhere you can move to Por and take Span next time or something...
Or you could be really nasty and order Mao-Iri, but then you'll risk the Brits sneaking into Mao which is VERY VERY BAD. Or course no matter what you do you're pretty vulnerable to Germany so be nice to him. And it looks like Germany will pick up a lot of SCs so watch out. Maybe set up a long-term alliance with Russia so that neither of you will get smacked by Germany after England dies and Russia nabbing Nor is vital so brown-nose him.

Self-standoff is good idea, but those two builds would be sweet for me, considering fleets are needed if I take on any larger campaign against England, and having my army stuck on Iberia isn't very good, considering it would be much more needed in protecting against possible German/Italian encursions. I'll think about it.

Thats the third threat today where I have to agree with Boshko

Go for the self bounce! There simply is no alternative. Think it through: england will try to outguess you. Lets see.

He knows you need Bre. So he would expect that you cover Bre. What are his option:

1) He could move to Bre. But he expects you not to risk that. He expects you to cover Bre. If he moves there himself, he would bounce you. But that he doesnŽt want.
You ask why? Because he wants Bre occupied, so you cannot build a fleet there.

2) He can move to Pic. Pic-Bre is your most likely move. If he goes to Pic, he is in a very good position for spring and you cannot build in Bre.

3) He could move to MAO. He probably believes that you use MAO to go to Por. I doubt that he believes that you use MAO to cover Bre, because that is far too risky. Either way, if he moves to MAO and you go MAO-Bre or Pic-Bre you have a serious problem. YouŽd have nothing to stop his fleet in the south and you could not build a second fleet.

4) However if youŽd bounce, it would not matter where he moved, heŽs bounce too. The worst that could happen is that he gives you unfriendly support for Pic-Bre. Wich would mean you could not build in Bre. But he had not gained anything as well.

The selfbounce is clearly the superior move.

Now one more thing: can you be sure Germany is on your side? What if Germany supports E into Bel? Has England moved LvP-Lon in spring? Could these two have an alliance against you? Watch that, that could be a dangerous stab!

As long as you trust Germany go for the self-bounce. At the moment you need fleets to hit England with and as long as you build in Bre your ok, a second build right now wouldn't help you all that much against England. As if Germany stabs you you're probably fvcked no matter what you go so go for the self-bounce.

I had a brilliant plan, then I was screwed over by Germany changing orders while I was away. then my stab on Mun was unsuccessful (he doesn't know that I did it intentionally though, I will claim that my conditional orders I left beforehand forced this to happen if A Mar-Bur was not bounced like it was supposed to.)

So I have 1 build only

I do have now: A Bel, F Eng, A Bur, so I would not fret too much, and the board is in such chaos that only Austria has 5 centers, England 3, and all the others are at 4.
