Okay, finally WM 2028 got off and running. Here's the results of Spring 1901:
Austria: Army Budapest -> Serbia.
Austria: Army Vienna -> Budapest.
Austria: Fleet Trieste -> Albania.
England: Fleet Edinburgh -> North Sea.
England: Fleet London -> English Channel.
England: Army Liverpool -> Wales.
France: Fleet Brest -> Mid-Atlantic Ocean.
France: Army Marseilles -> Spain.
France: Army Paris -> Burgundy. (*bounce*)
Germany: Fleet Kiel -> Denmark.
Germany: Army Berlin -> Kiel.
Germany: Army Munich -> Burgundy. (*bounce*)
Italy: Fleet Naples -> Ionian Sea.
Italy: Army Rome -> Apulia.
Italy: Army Venice -> Trieste.
Russia: Army Warsaw -> Galicia.
Russia: Army Moscow -> Ukraine.
Russia: Fleet Sevastopol -> Black Sea.
Russia: Fleet St Petersburg (south coast) -> Gulf of Bothnia.
Turkey: Fleet Ankara -> Constantinople.
Turkey: Army Constantinople -> Bulgaria.
Turkey: Army Smyrna -> Ankara.
Here's an update on the Diplomatic front. Russia and Turkey appraoched me about a triple team of Austria. At first I thought, here we go agian. The last time that happened to me was in a Cat23 game where Hacksaw was Austria, and I spent the whole game trying to save his ass, while just barely hanging on myself. But this time I thought that I'd take another approach. Both Turkey and Russia are natuarally offering to turn on the other once Austria is done. Both might be lying, and yet the option remains that both may be sincere.
So I took them up on it. I'm privately reluctant, and publicly enthausiatic about it. Here's the catch tough. I'm in Trieste with Austria's blessing! He agreed to start 1901 taking a chance at only one build (Greece). The plan is for me to go to Serbia, while he uses F Albania to support A Serbia - Greece. I build Tunis and Serbia and reinstitute the Lepanto, while Austria goes after Russia.
I was a busy little bee this year too, inciting an anti-French opening from England and Germany, while staying on good terms with France myself. So far everyone is my happy with the EYE TIES, and no one (including me) knows what I'm really up to. And even if I stab Austria or Turkey this year, they don't necessarily know that I've stabbed.
Russia's making a nice offer to stab Turkey at this point, and I'm inclined to consider it. And yet I really fear a midgame Balkan stalemate with a Russia that has defeated Turkey. So if I go this route, I need to get some resistance to Russia in the north just to keep him honest (and small).
Open for suggestions. I've got a plan as it is, but it never hurts to have help.
