Electricity, telephone communication, and early internal combustion engines were some of the inventions of the late 19th century. But it wasn't until the 20th century that these technologies would be widely applied in ways that forever changed people's lives. National power grids were laid out, automobiles became an increasingly used means of transportation, and the telephone became an essential mode of communication. With these nation-wide applications of technology, massive public works projects became much easier.

With the merging of different cultures through modern transportation and media, nationalists representing conquered peoples took the liberal aspects of the conqueror's culture and used it in the attempts to achieve independence. With the Civil Rights Act wonder, the host civilization's people approach closer to racial equality and idealism, although it would not be yet truly accomplished. However, with the success they did achieve, the citizens are more happy, and productive.
Historical Text: The Civil Rights Act consisted of several pieces of government legislation that only became enacted as the result of direct pressure from the discriminated, disenfranchized minority groups. Unfortunately, even with the Civil Rights Act, people realized decades later that there was still progress to be made in the spirit of equality and idealism.

How about as a precussor or like item to civil rights 'the Magna Carta' wonder in middle ages period and in ancient, now who was it, Commodus i think, that decreed everyone free was a citizen of Rome. Each would have a period of happiness associated with them that wears of in time as the new thing becomes just part of the landscape. Additionally, if the unhappiness no militia is done as indicated in the mod side these may also be used to have an impact there, Just an expansion on one of the ideas. Effectively, if look throughout each period you can find a like repeat of a 'feat' that wears of, but could be nice atmosphere in the game. i also thought the zulus and the asoka empire had something similar in terms of laws, but i am not that familar anymore with them.

yours,

john snider

Got spare money?

That sounds like an interesting idea, but with other possible wonders I am contemplating, I don't think I will be able to do that. If you want to take up your own idea with a mod project, by all means, let us know about it. And thanks for your input.
