Comunidades y Germanias (Communities & Brotherhoods) Remove this text

In a nice temporal coincidence with Kindal's scenario, Javier Arriaga, another well known Spanish designer, has sent his scenario to me this morning.

He warned it's not a final version. So I thought that before uploading it to the Spanish Civ Site, it would be nice to show it first to the patrons of the Spanish Civ Site forums. You can download it from this address:

http://spanish.apolyton.net/comun.zip

Please leave your comments on the scen in this thread and give as much advice as you can! Javier and I will apreciate them! Thanx

PS. What do you think of my new sig?

uh lo que ha dicho

buscando pelea, eh?

Shaka,

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

I feel a little bit intimidated by all this eloquent Spanish talk preceding me. Maybe it's time to start learning Spanish...

Anyway, Javier Arriaga has created a great new scenario. I played as the Brotherhood, and though it is not really hard, as my Agermanats are mass-producing and are terrorizing all of Spain. All enemy cities have fallen.
Still, nice units, and a nice pace. Good to see a scenario in which the turns pass quickly and it's easy to conquer.

Also it's fun to see that a scenario which hardly changed anything radical in terms of terrain can still be so much fun.

Still, it could use a little bit more events to give more the feeling of the time.

Sorry Allard It was a long digression about the appropriateness of my latest sig. It's all over now (hope)

Glad you liked the scen. It's easy but fun. I also think the events section is a bit sparse. I was also thinking that a terrain change would give the scenario a certain feel of novelty.

I agree with us, the scenario is fun and have good graphics , but I think is too shorter and easier, I think if the victory is harder it is more interesting. And if it is longer, Javier will can add more events, Why not the conquer of Barcelona or Sevilla by the rebelds??? or the French attacks to Navarre
Very good the separation of Aragon and Castile in diferent civs, by this way it´s represented the negation of Aragon to send troops against Commoners. The Agragonese troops wait in Zaragoza because "we aren´t nobody to fight against Castilian liberties." or they said that.

Ahh!!! I have forgotten, the first event there is a bug "...1819..." and in the readme has copied and fixed smoe explains from the other about Carlistas war ("open a folder called "carlismo")

Tired of ads?

Thanks to everybody. this is my first time in this forum and I'm very pleased to see that people are talking about me :-).

I take note of every suggestion; it's true it is easier than I though so I will try to make it a little harder. By the way, I am very ashamed about the bug of 1819 and, most of all, about the readme file (I took the readme of the carlist war as a model and... well, you can see what happened). The suggestions about icons and terrain make me suffer; I'm not good at artist jobs so I have to "borrow" my icons from another people (the terrain belongs J.Balsinde).

I wish to thank you for all the replies to this topic, I will start working with a new version as soon as posible.

About the terrains, I changed my hills graphics to a new ones in my scenario "Spanish Odissey", i think that there are nicer than old ones. You can take them.

Hello... I'm preparing version 1.2 and I'm looking for a new icon for the "herald" unit. I've tried to draw it, but i'll never be an artist. ¿Could someone help me? Thank you.

I've got a unit that might suit you, Javier. It's in my webpage, go to the units ection, and look for it in the 16th Century units...

It's a kind of diplomat, dressed in blue.

Edit: there's another suitable one, a guy in brown with a paper scroll in its hand...

I hope it helps...

Indeed we are

Brother in Spanish is hermano. Replace the g in Germanias by an h and you'll get the origin of the word. Nevertheless, I think the word Germanias is of Catalan/Valencian origin.
