	"The Long 19th Century" PBEM Game Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

We need to agree on a difficulty level.

I think that one of us can draw lots to see who gets what civ as well. Make it nice and random. I will do it and keep my word as a gentleman (if that is possible! ) of not to cheat.

We have the following players:
1) Exile
2) Henrik
3) Hogfather
4) Cpoulos
5) HsFB(?)

We have the following civs to fill in:
1) France
2) Britain
3) Austria
4) Prussia
5) Russia

So all we are missing is confirmation from HsFB, I believe.

And so we can probably start on Sunday if all goes well.

That's O.K. with me, Hogfather. Make the picks. If anyone is unhappy with what happens, we can change it later. I suggest Prince or King, but no higher as the difficulty level. We can use this thread to keep a running commentary about the war. Remember guys, play your turn as soon as possible! Let's make it a game to remember.

Sunday is a good start date for me. I would like to get the British, but will take whatever comes up. If it actually takes me 24 hours/move I'll be surprised. I suggest at least King level of difficulty. I'll comment in this thread about game activity. Who will start the game? Cpoulos?

The draw performed and its outcome:

The draw was completely fair and impartial.

This is the turn order for hot-seat. If Henrik would be good enough to write out step by step the procedure for .NET game, we can procede. If there is no diference in turn order in a .NET game from what I proposed in the other thread, then we can move foward. Remember Henrik, every boring step, from the game start to the begin play area, so everything is clearly understood by everyone. Awaiting your response, o Czar of all the Russias (Henrik).

Alright, say I start the scenario as an internet game. Assume I am the First player. I do not wait for anyone to join. I play my turn. I save the game, but how do I password protect it? And then I send it to you, Henrik. How do you load the save, and how do you join the game? That's what I want to know. Exactly what has to be done, and how to do it, so I make no mistakes. Like I said before, I've never played it using a .NET save. I just want the game to play smoothly, so that everybody has a good time. Confusion about procedure will ruin the game.

That is becouse its Germanys turn when the game starts, the game procedes after that in the list order.
You password protect your player civ by selecting to do so in a menu (cant remember which one right now, but that shouldn't be hard to check).
Then you save and send the file to the next player who starts a multiplayer game, choses load save game (he must place the save in the scenario folder first) and picks his civ, if he tries to load someone elses civ the game will ask for a password (if this player has chosen to password protect his civ).
ANything else (Im sorry if I'm still leaving something out, just ask )

also, i either have a different version of the scenario or my taste for them is completely different from yours!

Look at the map!

W and C europe is OK, but Southern Russia is a hughe grassland with some forests, no hills or anything! no plains either!

and the tech tree! this guy has given nearly all the techs he doesn't want to be used to the players, and the Scientific report is a mess. Besides, if you take a city, F cavalry "partisans" pop up... Partisans are OK, but Cavalry?

and nearly half of the non-availiable-at-start units are made availiable by one tech, including all modern ships!

Oh, and the Russians begin with Future Tech 1...

Hodad (the Hogfather) has made a similar scenario, starting on the Austro-Prussian war which is very good, and can be played by 6 or 7 people...
It has a good deal of events and a very good tech tree...

Guys, if your going to keep changing your minds about what to play, I'm going to drop out. Either we pick one or not. But to change things two days before the start, after it took a week to set it up, is bad buisness. Exile, you can have Britain. I'll play the Austrians.

I sure do like getting Britain; it's the civ that I habitually take when playing that scenario. But honestly, I can see why the Russians wouldn't be much fun to play. I am happy to play in a historical scenario that I'm familiar with. There are plenty. You have a point though, Chris; let's find one that everybody's pleased about. There are so many good ones, it shouldn't be that difficult. Um . . . Modern Age is designed for multiplay. I know. I designed it. Just a suggestion.

Alright, if you guys don't like the 19th century scenario, then how about Exile's "The Modern Era"? It was designed for multi-player, and it has none of the other scenario's flaws. It has all the European powers, and it has things to research, and wonders to build. I only ask not to be stuck with a Muslim nation. I am Half Greek you know!

Henrik, the Modern Age works fine as it is; the additions you're preparing will require testing to make sure they function as intended. If anyone is interested in a MP Modern Age, I can send copies to anyone who wants to participate, and we'll all have the same program. If this is a go, let me know.

Well, with Henrik, Chris, that makes 3. Now if we can convince Hogfather and HsFB to join in, its a go. The chances are good that I'll be awake for quite awhile tonight however, so it might be around noonish that you'll see me online.

You can play whichever civ you want, just work it out with Cpoulos and whoever else will join. I'm flexible w/this scenario; all the civs that are meant to be played have something interesting going for them. The Berbers are not intended for human play, however. The "Commerical States," Italy and the Low Countries can be, but the sceanrio works well if they are left out as well. I can't honestly see anyone winning with the "Commercial," or white civ, but it might be fun to play the spoiler.
