Very peculiar. I scanned the log and didn't saw Hutak destroy any ship. Now he has 929 exp points??? Yesterday I was on the top with my 541 points!

Anyone know how much exp points you get from building a citadel? And then, if it is a corporate planet, which member of corp get those points?

Okay, these are the ways to increase one's exp points (at least what I know):

• Good haggling at ports, >=98% of their best price = 1 point, >=99% = 2 points
  
• Attacking someone
  
• Entering the game (1 exp point and 1 alignment point per 24h)
  
• Finding an unused port (1 - 2 points)
  

So, I'm more than curious how Hutak managed to get several hundreds of exp points during a single day without ever attacking anyone

I am wondering too, I thought I had a chance at number 1 (OK, not a good chance, but at least a chance), then Boom! And here I am fighting it out for the top 3!

Another possibility -- I seem to remember that hitting a port's price right on gives 5 exp instead of 2, that is, being 100% of his best price. Maybe???

Yup, 100% gives 5 points, but it's extremely difficult to get. In this game I haven't yet managed to get it. And Hutak got at least 500 points during one day. I would know because I check the 'player value list' everyday.

Possible if he gets the psyche probe. If he runs a short port pair where he can do two trades at each port, he could gain 10 points at each port. If these ports are 4 turns apart, he could get 500 points.

Does Hutak post on this board? I too have never gotten the 5 exp for getting the price right on. I figure that, if we don't catch on to his tricks, then we're just going to have to gang up on him and take him down a notch or two, eh?

Well, he's evil, and IIRC you get a bunch of points for ripping off ports. Maybe he just did a whole bunch of stealing?

Well, so much for keeping a low profile!

But anyway, after this huge one-day boost I guess I should have expected that you guys would take notice sooner rather than later.

To answer a few questions:

1- I don't think it's possible to get that 5 points thingy. At least I never got it.

2- How did I made so much xp? Now, should I tell you guys... or not?
Naw... you'll find it soon enough. It's not a trick or anything. And beside half the fun is discovering what you can do! It's my first Trade Wars 2002 game ever, I guess I just found a neat way to make xp fast (not money efficient though, but fast - and it's not really something that you can make every day, it would just be a bad idea then).

Once last thing before I go: it's so nice of you burbel to think about my well being.
In totaly unrelated news, did you guys notice that there was a 12,500 reward posted in the underground on burbel's Orion ship? Just thought I'd mention that. For not particular reasons.

I'm sure anyone still around knows this by now, but most likely he was buy-dumping for XP. You can make 6 xp/turn for fairly low cost this way, using all your turns if you want, so even a 250 turn game could give you 1500 xp in one day and not show a thing on the daily log..

(May as well answer questions like this so if I can get an influx of newbies on the board they'll have answers hehe)
