Actually, I could have had it on the first night, had I been
thinking a bit more. The reaction level on Ferrengal *was*
40%, so 40% of his fighters would throw themselves against
me. If I would have kept "attempting" to land there, I could
have soaked up all of his fighters (relatively) easily
against my shields...

I ended up having to kill off only 380-ish fighters to capture
the planet...

Now, if I can just hold on to it for awhile. =)

Will new ferrengi ships continue to attempt to reclaim their home planet?

Very impressive, Burbel! Congrats. So, are you now having constant attacks by the Ferrengi?

What about the planet, was it worth conquering (besides all the glory)? What is the population? Are there a lot of products for you to sell to compensate your fig/shield losses? Just curious.

Well, I *do* intend to try and keep it, but I also figure
that I will lose it sometime relatively soon.

When I captured it it had around 1,000 colonist per good,
less than 500 fuel ore, and a bit of the other products.

But, as everyone probably knows, it did come with a citadel,
although a citadel on a class M world is not as nice as on
the other types of worlds.

So far, I haven't seen any Ferrengi attack me, but, then
again, I only have held the planet for around 10 minutes.

I read somewhere that if I control both Ferrengal and the
sector above it, that the Ferrengi will not be generated,
but that the current ones will stay "at large". Not sure
if that is true, or not, though.

As for the losses, I seem to be out at least 4k in shields
and 17k in fighters, give or take. The planet produces almost
100 fighters per day, though, so I figure I should break even
in, oh, about 7 months!

More when I log on tonight...

Well, I don't want to give away my secret plans,
but the Ferrengi have *not* managed to take it
back yet (although they have destroyed a lot of
fighters trying)...

So far, my defenses are holding, but only time will
tell...
