The top-tenners are all Theocracies because they are using the TTR strategy, which I was attempting before the... incident... In TTRs you sell tech for income, while maxing out the essential techs and the Military tech. Then you switch to all military bases, which makes military units very very cheap on the private market. You then sell these military units on the public. They are top ten because naturally you can only sell 25% of what you have, so they retain HUGE amounts of miliary units. The down side to running this strat, as I understand it, is that although expenses are cut by the tech and MBs, it is very expensive per turn, so you actually only use a few turns a day (buy with the money you made from the sale, then sell them. Do this about 3 times a day).
It's very profitable and you get a lot of networth with all that military. Therefore Theocracies almost ALWAYS win in 1A.
