All IC's and CS if you're an indy.
You should get along fine, just selling 1/4 a day, once a day.
Buy tech, bushels, and oil... it's all good.
Yay!

But only IF you are, in reality an "Indy." Yes, I am a communist goverment, but I'm not an "Indy" by definition. I only sell oil and food, buy military, and never sell technology - I make betwen 12-15 million per day (depending on the current market conditions).
Ciao!

If you are a commie it is best to be Commie industrialist the best way to keep money is too sell your military each day on the public market. Unfortunatly the loss of money is unsustainable and eventually you will lose more money than you make money from the units you sell. The best Earth players switch to casher after they start to lose more money than they get as a commie indy. Since you are probably small, I am guess no more than 1.2 million I suggest following the above advise and sell your military at the end of your turns each day.
Too switch the subject slightly I have found that the best strategy, for me anyway was a straight out of the reset dictator farmer strategy. Last reset I used it to great success building a thirty two million networth country with forty thousand acres, I finished the reset ranked in the top 250. The best way to accomplish is to get land fat, really land fat, aggressively land grab, take as much land as you can and keep doing this. You'll need a fair amount of construction sites and if you start slowly its ok cause you can make up ground. Of course its hard to get a really high ranked country when you are apart of a smaller clan which I am assuming most of you are. The only way to build a top 500 country once, to say nothing of consistently is to be apart of large alliance or have strong connections within the Earth community so that you get Do not Hit agreements and NAPs with other alliances.
When you landgrab the best people to hit are the people that can't hit you back, so you must be a bottom feeder, you need to prey on the weak so that you can be strong. Occasionally one of them will send a missile your way as revenge so make sure you have adequate SDI to stop any little guys from chewing at your ankles. If you stop the missile fine, maybe consider ignoring the guy, but if the missile gets through hit him back once or twice, past that the law of diminishing returns will make any land you get not worth the military you expended to get it. Also if you have rules regarding retals you should follow them, but if not well then decide what is best. Anyway land grab a lot, I typically tend to hit people between one tenth and one fifth my networth, right at the humanitarian line, that way you send only a portion of your forces and your readiness doesn't go down to much and you can hit more people.
If you are aiming for a big country, for here I'll assume 10,000 plus acres and eight million plus networth you are going to want to be able to build at least 100 hundred buildings per turn. Also if you are a farmer you will want to keep money on hand to make sure you don't run out. The more land you have the more expensive it will cost to build on it so make sure as you get higher in networth you keep enough cash on hand to build. Though if you are a farmer you can always sell your food on the private market if you are lacking in money to build. Now when you build buildings as a farmer you will want as I said at least 560 construction sites, as a dictator thats about 100 buildings per turn. The rest should be farms, you should have no residential, enterprise, research labs, military bases, or oil rigs. You should have about five hundred acres worth of industry sites, and they should be making spies. You buy your tech, and your military, as well as your oil.
With this strategy as I mentioned above I managed to get thirty two million networth, I had just over forty thousand acres and I was one of the largest in Arrow. I would have been at least ten million higher but I forgot what day the reset ended and so the money and food I had stockpiled, $2 billion, and 110 million bushels all went to waste, I could have finished top 100. It was a still a good reset and it was my best ever finish, this reset I began a country but I became bored with it and it expired after two weeks of inactivity. Next reset I am going to try the theo techer reseller strategy which I am told and I have seen that it is very effective.

I don't see any value in selling military, that just makes you weaker and more vulnerable, besides there's other ways to make cash. You don't really need that much. Cash. If I hvae only 75% ICs I can still have a very small per turn cash balance (+- four digits), and sell oil for all the building money I could need even at 50 buildings per turn... let's face it, I can build more in four turns than I can grab in two, so if I continue expanding at max rate, I'm losing military while net gaining.
In any case, I'm quitting 1A after the reset, it's not as fun with clans, too many people you can't hit, too many rules.
I've finished second with a mixed strategy in a tournament game some time ago. I think the reason none of the top people are using them now, is because they're the best, and they could win whatever strategy they get good at. If they all switched strategies they could easily get there again. My problem is that I always quit games like these after one or two resets. I've quit Earth no less than four times until now. Heck, I still remember when the tournament was first started! Ah well...

You are, of course, incorrect.
Mixed strats lose efficiency.
Selling military is fine and tasty!
Bolo's got a fine strat... it won't work until you guys retal and get a rep and some pacts, but it's a fine rudimentary strategy....
