What's the deal with attachments? Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

I have just noticed this feature on the end of posts and it seems to allow you to post a whacking big attachment to your posts. What is the purpose of this? Is it disabled? What are the rules on it's use?

you can attach any of the following types: gif jpg png txt zip bmp jpeg and a maximum of 100k

Suffering from ads?

Why only those types? Could you at least add SLC? Kind of silly if us SLIC-programmers would have to zip our files while text editors can post them right away...

What about Civ2 .net files? That would considerably speed up the PBEM games currently running on the SLEague and Spanish forums.

(I know you can always zip these file up and attach them that way, but that would not be as straightforward)

Damnit, Markos! :q. You fall for them. They tell you add that extension, and you do. In fact, I am the only one strict enough here, and the main rule is: don't give the users what they want. Users must cry, pray, tear they mandibles with hot pincers, etc, etc. .
