Suggestion: Don't top polls when someone votes Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

As it is now, many polls that have not had replies for more than a day stay on the top ten anyway, becuase people vote in them and they move to the top of the thread listings. This is annoying, because I keep clicking and re-reading threads with no new posts to them, that nevertheless have a red envelope.

You could kill the poll problem and this problem with one stone by only making the threads top when actually posted in, and not when voted in.

it's possible, there is an option for exactly this thing, but why does it sound like punishing the on-topic forums for the sake of the OT?

Actually, Civ3 forum is flooded with polls too (probably not as much as OT, but it's still annoying). But I say, let's first see how it goes and leave things as they are: if these polls are still as popular and annoying in two or three weeks as they are now, turn on that option after all.
