The Only Place To Turn To Got spare money?

I am having a major problem with the Med Mod 4.0 pak for Civilization: Call to Power. I have e-mailed WesW three separate times over a period of two days, and no response.

I have followed his trouble shooting guide on the Troubleshooting readme file, and the game still crashes on the fourth turn, when I have my first non-Settler, military unit.

I have also installed the official Activision patch for the game, and the V1.21 Hack patch BEFORE installing WesW's Med Mod 4.0 pak.

And now, still seeking help to an unresolved problem, I have tried searching for the Med Mod 4.0 thread itself in the Apolyton Archive, to no avail. Seems like it was permnamently deleted.

I have thought about posting this in the Civilization: Call to Power "Help" section of this forum, but seeing that there is a very, very small number of participants in Civilization: Call to Power on the forum anymore, I felt my thread would not be read. So, I posted here.

I have followed the trouble shooting guide on the Troubleshootng readme file, and the game still crashes on the fourth turn, when I have my first non-Settler, military unit.

I appreciate any help from anyone - maybe Wes will have time to answer my question on this forum.

Suffering from ads?

Anyone else had problems with Civilization: Call to Power crashing directly to windows, with no error messages?

This occurred after I installed the official patch, Hack, and Med Mod 4.0. Thanks for anyone's help on this problem.

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

If you didn't get an error message, then it is hard to figure out what went wrong. Sometimes I got that crash when the number at the top of the text files is wrong by more than one or two, but mostly the game comes up with informative error messages (Probably had to, it happened so much). The only thing I can suggest is check all the MedMod files you added, and look for any obvious errors, and if that fails, re-install the game, patch, hack and MedMod.

Ben

Put an end to popups!

It's part of my identity -- get over it.

But anyway, I came here to let you guys know that I got the Mod to work.

Although the readmes do not mention about possible bugs that Wes and the others were unable to fix, are there any? Should I be anticipating any bugs?

Full PM-box? Change here!

Well done on getting the mod to work. What did you do?

I don't think there should be any more bugs, the Mod was worked on and perfected over the course of the months (years?) and its almost certainly bug-free.

Actually, I take that back. Markos, one of the moderators, snuck in an update about avatars.

NOW you only need 500++ post count, but remember, your post count will not increase in the Off Topic section of the forum.

LOL Fuzzball!!

Actually, Tom of Finland (can't remember his real name right now) was a very good artist in pencil and charcoal, and then later, color painting.

In many of his drawings, he exaggerated some features of the fictional men with thighs, pecs, and um - another part.
And others might disagree, but I think in many of them, he exaggerated the features, but not too such an extreme.

But there were other drawings/paintings of his where such features were done a bit too much out of proportion.

Oh yeah, here's a big surprise -- Tom of Finland was gay.

I am very new to this group and would like to know whether the hack and MedMod pack works for CTP on linux as well. (I have upgraded to the 1.2a patch already).

Thanks,

Sorry, I do not know anything about the Linux aspect.

But I have a question myself. What part of the text files should I edit if I want computer opponents to agree to withdrawing??

As the Med Mod 4.0 pak stands right now, no matter how well the computer opponent regards you, they NEVER agree to withdraw.

Thank you for any help anyone.

I think it was Luke Loh (a.k.a. Locutus?) that worked on ctp for Linux. I remember seeing some sites a while ago for ctp and linux, but I haven't worn my red hat in a long time. Have you tried getting in touch with Luke Loh or Wes Whitaker about it Srikant?

Thanks for the tip. I did figure out that most of the configuration data was in text files which is great since that is very unix-like. I will get in touch with them and find out more. Unfortunately, Loki doesn't have too much information about the mods. If the mod packs are just self-extracting exes (which I suspect), it would be great if apolyton also just put the zip files as well on their web site (linux can read zip files but not the exes).

Thanks,

Srikant
