Jay Bee's Scenarios Support Apolyton

Everybody loves a poll so here's a new one: What's your favorite Jay Bee scenario? I can only fit 10 in the poll, so "Spanish pride" will be cut, but it's really a mod pack, so that's that. My favorite is "Of Celts and Iberians", followed closely by "Al-Andulas". As most of you guys know, I love history, and am into Roman history, so Celts is a natural for me. So let's here it boys, what's yours, and why?

Mine is Al-Andalus, you probably have heard me saying it before... It's not just because of the medieval thematics, it's also for the gameplay (to me, it's the prfect mix between conquest and empire-building/management... I just love it, especially to play it as the Aragonese...

My second choice would be Age of Thunder. BTW, Chris, it seems like you actually voted for Age of Thunder n the poll, or has anyone else already voted?

It's Phillip II for me; Well-researched, great map, superlative unit mix, good civ choices, beautiful graphics, and perfect period.

So you finally did it, uh?

I can't vote cos my favorite was not included Yes, my personal fave is Spanish Pride, the first modpackish scen, nation-based scen ever released. Maybe I should post on this in the SLeague thread (breakthrus & whatever). It's a pity that no one continued and/or adapted this idea to other scens.

Tired of ads?

Voted for Celts and Iberians. Al Andalus is the second best for me

I loved the start (as Roman) of Celts and Iberians when your Legions start moving southwards on the coast, and then the reinforcements that came with the Carthago Nova event

I voted for Mexico because that covers what I find to be an interesting part of history. It is a nice change from the usual civ game. That said, I enjoy Of Celts and Iberians very much. I still haven't finished it, tho. Also, El Dorado was a very fun short game, very creative use of the civ tools.

I voted for war of Cuba ( , Jay Bee I liked it best mainly because I knew what was going on best (having made a similar scenario myself). I enjoyed them all...I think the easiest one had to be the first version of Grenada (where Jay Bee forgot to downgrade the general unit, who mops the floor once you get him)...but really one of the ones I liked alot wasn't included, and it wasn't spanish pride! it was his entry into the first scenario contest, which I judged. His won (if I remember correctly), and was an excellent scenario on the ethiopian conflict (it was called Sable-Colonial Wars). My hat's off to you Jay-Bee, for being one of the 3 best scenario makers ever!

No, I came in second place. You thought Sable wasn't hard enough Blackclove won with his Menelik entry, a top-notch scenario. But I was more than satisfied with my 2nd place ribbon, considering I made that scenario in only three days. It's an unfinished scenario and I think it awfully shows!!!

What happened to your Philippines project? I know it's been ages since then but, why don't you open a thread to talk about it? There is lots of knowledgeable people on the subject around.

PS. You were not supposed to bribe the general in Granada!!!

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Yeah, yeah....I know...but remember, you gave me and stefan hartel copies of the scenario before anyone else...we were the ones who revealed the problem .

I guess I could restart it, but I think I'd need some collabrative help. I am not that great at making graphics, but I am knowledgeable about it, and I already made a map (I wonder if it is still in the CSC database). Basically, I'd do it if somebody were willing to help me with graphics and whatnot (it would also cut back on time spent significantly). I guess I'll post a "help wanted" ad in the Scenario league and Civ 2 creation forums

Woho! Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

Was checking out the Sumptious Scenarios by J. Balsinde...

Whilst downloading the Alba America scenario I read the quote...

" "Many years have to lazily pass until a time comes
in which the ocean opens the barriers of the world.
An immense land will be discovered and Thetys will reveal new worlds.
No longer will Thule be the last of the lands"
--Seneca, 'Medea'"

Is this a true quote?

If it is, how did the Romans, and their predecesors know of the 'immense land' across the ocean?

By the way I sent of Age of Constantine to the Spanish Civilization II site for evaluation...

Decisions.... Increase Your PM Length

Many of J. Balsinde (I preffer this official name, he deserves it for his quality scenarios) are excellent and the others are good. For example I am playing the Al Andalusia scenario. Aimed at pushing the Moors out by reconquering the south first to Heulva and Cadiz. Then moved east but all my siege engines were taking awhile to get to the destination. Then El Cid came to the rescue!

Excellent Event!

Yo he votado por Cuba.
