Anyone who wishes to compete against others in the One City Challenge, play either version, on Very Hard, with 8 civs, and Barbarians on the hardest setting. Map should be Normal size. (I don't remember what the exact names of th sizes are!! If someone finds that this is too easy we can up the map size one notch.) When you finish either post your scores here, or email them to me at wendell777@hotmail.com. Good luck, and believe me, you are going to need it!!!
When posting scores please include, score, science you were researching at end of game, amount of gold you had, the date it ended, and the reason it ended (killed, gaia controller, conquest, etc...) Thanks!
Preacherman, I still need some of this info from you. Thanks man!

Maybe I should start a separate thread for this, but I see no need, all OCC players will find this eventually.
I HAVE COMPLETED THE MM2-OCC!!
If this goes to the database, they always quote from my post, and it always sounds lame, so this has to be a "soundbite".
The MedPack version of the OCC scenario for CTP2 is finished, and I'm sure it will be a real challenge. Just like the original, there is no way for the human to get more than one city, and the aim is to win. Surviving to 2300AD is good, but conquering or diplomacy will be much harder to achieve
Blah de Blah... I have overcome the problems and here it is. I will email it to Markos sometime soon, but you can get it here for now. (You would not believe how close to the size limit on this attacthment)
If anyone gets any errors, post here, or email me, and I will attempt to solve them, but my MedPack is a little dodgy, I once played game where my militia were fully operational abolitionists
I was thinking that the map I made has some flaws in it, and so, rather than releasing separate scenarios, people can make their own maps and post them here, or another thread with a screenshot, or description, and why it is good, and we can see who can get the best victory on the hardest map. (If anyone can win at all). All you need to do is replace "savegame.s2g" in the scen0000 folder to your chosen map. Make one with a good city site, a bad city site, an island map, whatever. If this takes off anything like the Civ2 OCC did, then this should be very very cool.
Have a whole load of fun guys
Ben. The Immortal Wombat.

When I drew my map, I had intended that the central island be surrounded by water, and the AI settle the ring of land around it. When I started playing, I realised that the human could get boats out of the circle sea, and into the bays, and that the AI could settle the surrounding islands, which the human cannot get to until space planes. This could make it difficult to win by conquest.
To make a map, start a random map game on the size map you want, go to the cheat menu/scenario editor (press !) then click the button that looks like a globe. This will remove all the land tiles from the map. From there you can 'paint' tiles of land by using the [ world ] tab, and clicking on the terrain you want. To paint larger areas at once, use the 3 paintbrush buttons to the right, these paint 1, 9 or 16 tiles at once.
I start by drawing round the coastline, then filling in the land afterwards.
NOTE: This technique is only worth doing for small maps. For big maps, use the BMP2CTP2 program, (available here) and there is a tutorial for that in one of the CTP2 forums.

I tried the one city challenge ! And ....
I lost It was a really good game though. Nice and short for a change. I usually play on a large map with lots of civs.
I got to 1878, and finally having discovered democracy, I switched my government and *poof*. My citizens revolted, I was ousted. (At least I think that's what happened, as the screen suddenly went blank then told me my reign was over). A couple of turns earlier under a different form of government they had been complaining of the pollution that was beginning to build up. I had just assigned a bunch of entertainers in the city to boost moral, and hide the pollution issue (there was nothing else I could do). However, under a democratic government this wasn't good enough.
There is more than one way to lose the game.
Otherwise, I was doing okay. I built five wonders early in the game. Recently discovered nationalism, and sent spies out to aquire knowledge. I think I had 35 advances. The game gave me a final score of 4610.
I was ranked 6th out of eight, with all eight civs still in the game, although a couple of the civs were on the brink of collapse (they each only had two cities left).
Score: 4610
Advances: 35
Wonders: 5 (Aristotle's Lyceam,Great Wall,Hagia Sophia,Pyramids,Appian Way)
Population: 28 (I think)
Gold: 27,995
Reign Ended: 1878
Reason: revolt
