Yeah, I made the Indian tribe.
quote: And it seems a very good system. |
I don't think it's bad, but a little unrealistic. Giving a soldier a better sword would have an effect on the weight, but a far bigger effect on the cost. I think in cEvo's system most people would pay more attention to weight than cost because that's what limits the units' capabilities.
People used clubs instead of broadswords when they did because of technology and cost, not weight.

Elmo:
I have been playing C-Evo extensively lately and have been working on a nation expansion pack for the project. Perhaps it would be helpful for others to explain this screenshot.
The unit creation system is very interesting. You first have to discover the Warrior Code science advancement (I usually do this one first). After that when the option to pick a new science to research, one of them is called 'Military Research' if you click on this depending on other advancements you have discovered you will have 3 types of units to develop: ship, gadget (tanks, cannons), or troops. Depending on how advanced you are will depend on what kind of unit you can make.
For example: When you come to this screen you pick the ship. After picking it you have a picture and a summary of how much it will cost to build, how fast it is, and the attack defend number (the xx/xx number).
At the top are attributes that you can select if you have discovered them (they are usually side effects of discoveries) such as targeting, rail (runs on rail only), free will, conscription, first strike, and so on. You click on a + or - sign to increase or decrease the attack and defense of the unit or to add an attribute as mentioned above.
There probably is some more detail that you can go into on this section of C-EVO but I'm no expert I've been concentrating more on the fastest order for science advancements. But I hope the above is helpful to this discussion.
