Government question Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I have a question (maybe it has already been discussed, but I can't find it ) :

Was it anywhere officially confirmed that we will have Civ/CTP government model rather than SMAC SE model in Civ III?

(The existence of two inventions, Democracy and Republic, does not settle the matter, as they just may allow to use different SE models)

SE stands for Social Engineering - it was a feature in SMAC allowing you to choose different aspects of your socio-politic system rather than one government.

And I don't know about the error

Firaxis has announced that Civ3 will not use the SE model from SMAC. This probably means that they will use the government model ala Civ2, but probably with minor changes.

i think you should be ablee to combine different govternemts that they provide for you, resulting in a simpler yet more personalized govt.

Yeah, I liked the concept of social engineering. I am surprised they haven't hung on to the concept of it in various ways.

For example, you would be able to select the main government which would have it's various modifiers, but you would be able to select certain other options and they would have other modifiers, such as perhaps welfare state, colonialism, stuff like that, you get the idea, that would also have an effect on the functioning of your society...

I don't think they ever said Nationalism will be a government. Although there was once an ambiguous mentioning of it in a preview (sorry, me too, no sources), it will probably be an advance required to use armies.

It would be awesome if they would have it this way. I liked being able to have certain adjustments in my government (ala SMAC) but I also like the base gov't model of Civ2. So why don't they put the two together to make an ultimate gov't model?

Absolutely TechWins. There are many different types of democracy; look at the US model compared to the European model for example; two different ways of doing democracy. Look at different types of Monarchy either. Perhaps, for example, Feudalism could bring the option of a feudalism within monarchy!

as a PHP-hoe i know thats a coding error.

and it's pretty simple to understand for all you non-coders.

quote:
error at line 150

on the 150th line of code

quote:
expected ')'

there is a missing ).

() are used in two ways, to enforce the order of operations, or to call a function.

I CAN USE THE COOL PHP CODE HIGHLIGHT BUTTON!

PHP:

$num
= (4+3)*(9-2);  //order of operations

$sum = addnums(4,3); //calling a function that returns an int.

so SOMEONE ::not looking at MarkG:: made an error in coding, and simple forgot a parenthecie (i can't spell).

it's a common error, easily fixed, infact i usually forget semicolons
